    2014 PRESEASON

    Who:
    Seattle Sounders v. Houston Dynamo
When: Wednesday, February 26 @ 4:00 pm CST
    Where: Blackbaud Stadium; Charleston, SC
    Records: Seattle Sounders (0-3-0)
    Houston Dynamo (6-3-0)
    Video: MLSsoccer.com

This is the tenth preseason game for the Dynamo. The Dynamo only have one win against MLS opposition so far. This game should be available to stream on the MLS website. Houston needs at least a tie in this game to remain in contention for the Carolina Challenge Cup title. The Dynamo won the Cup in 2006 and 2007.

Seattle defeated the Charleston Battery on Saturday, 1-2, in their most recent game. They won on a PK in the 89th minute. In the preseason overall the Sounders are 4-0-1. Their next game will be against DC United on March 1.

The next Dynamo preseason game is Saturday, March 1, in Charleston, SC against the Battery. That concludes the preseason. The next game will be the league opener on March 8 against New England.

Upon further consideration I believe that Houston has to defeat Seattle to have a chance to win the Challenge Cup. If we draw against the Sounders the most points we can get is 4. DC or Seattle would have to wind up with more than 4 since they play each other on Saturday.

I dont care about the Challenge Cup. I want the Dynamo to defeat Seattle just because they're Seattle!!!

The Challenge Cup has an interesting history. The winners and the regular season result the first seven years:

2004 - Columbus Crew - Won Supporters' Shield
2005 - San Jose Earthquakes - Won Supporters' Shield
2006 - Houston Dynamo - Won MLS Cup
2007 - Houston Dynamo - Won MLS Cup
2008 - San Jose Earthquakes - worst record in the league
2009 - Real Salt Lake - Won MLS Cup
2010 - DC United - worst record in the league

    But lately? Not so much.
DC United won a couple more and Chicago won last year. No significant result in any of those.

Will be interesting to see which way Houston goes with the starting lineup? Do they continue the starting XI from the last game? Move Barnes to a-mid, Boniek on the right, Cascio to the bench, and bring on Cummings who has been hot?

I think that's the best thing to do.

    -------Omar---Bruin
    Davis--Barnes--Rico--OBG
    Ashe--JT---CB-----Sarkodie
    -----------Hall

    i'm not that lucky.

i prefer this but i predict Dom will go with OBG in the middle and Cascio on the RW. although that may change if OBG plays a lot minutes against Venezuela.

If you're a season ticket holder you need to use your orange points to get some sound.

Lopez has some good passes in his arsenal.

Yeah, but barely covers ground. Almost like he is withdrawn and isn't seeking to receive the pass

As I've said before, Alex is very Camargoish.

Driver has not looked as good as when he first came from Hearts.

Isn't Driver coming off injury late last season?

Camargo could not fit into Dominic's system or style of play. Alexander Lopez looks the same at this point. Boniek, and Barnes easily beat Lopez out of his CM spot.

I like his skill set though.
