Stuart Campbell came to town Straight from Bristol Rovers Saw some Strikers in the road and ran those bastards over! La la la la la la la!
I beg to differ: http://homepages.sover.net/~spectrum/year/1989.html lol by current-Rowdies logic we deserve a star too. In all seriousness, this is a good preseason game in theory, best competition for either team if I'm not mistaken. But it's a shame the first real Rowdies-Strikers game since 1993 isn't one that counts for something. And if it wasn't less than a month before said game that counts in TB, we'd be sending some people up. Getting people up twice for the real games is hard enough unfortunately, no need wasting energy for a exhibition.
Nonsense! We had a dozen or so Mobsters drive down to Ft. Lauderdale last season for a game vs a Swedish team. We'd have damn sure had a bunch down there for a game vs. you guys. Also, USF possibly was our toughest preseason opponent. Considering how the Strikers have been gutted during the off season hehehehee
Well if it was a Swedish team we'd have to go. lol. We had a few go over to Estero for the first preseason game at FGCU. Easy trek across Alligator Alley. But 4 freaking hours for a preseason game is a bit much. We know we're going up there at least twice(maybe 3 or 4 times with USOC and playoffs) every year. I say kudos for making it down here last year, but making that drive for BK Hacken is a bit crazy lol. And hey we're undefeated. We beat Canada U-23s, who beat US U-23s, therefore the Strikers should qualify for the Olympics . We lost some key guys from last year but I think we may actually be a better team this season.
FLIGHT-19, eh? I don't think it's wise to name your Supporters Group after an ill-fated Naval Air practice run that ended with all five bombers crashing into the ocean due to pilot error. But then again, that just sums up the Strikers, doesn't it?
XaviusX, let's be real for just a second. Everyone knows it was the Bermuda Triangle that caused the loss of the pilots in Flight 19.
Definitely agree, why in the world did you guys name your SG after one of the most famous aviation disaster/mysteries in U.S. history? Silly heads
final score Strikers 4 - 3 Rowdies. Strikers looked better than expected, but the Rowdies really laid an egg out there tonight. Weird to score three and still manage to lose. Both teams could have had more goals as well. The ref was making some pretty silly calls against both teams, just bad as usual. But equally bad for all I think. The Strikers benefited from a fairly bogus penalty and a couple unfortunate deflections for goals, but earned the win I have to admit. The Rowdies...well, we need to get our heads out of our butts before this Saturday. Also, I really don't want to hear any shit talking from any Strikers supporters who didn't even bother coming to see this game. Which is to say NONE of you. Make excuses, but you know we'd have had a presence in Ft. Lauderdale if this game had been played down there. You guys just suck, admit it.
