Dorman has been active and involved besides the goal.

    Soares scores 2-1

Great service from Latigue and good job on Soares for beating his mark.

Latigue with a very solid FK that Soares heads home. 2-1 Revs.

That is the type of set piece ability we need. Latigue doesn't seem to be a guy who could win a starting spot, but I love that FK.

Anyone think Goncalves could end up as our new Lozano. I'm not sure I see him finding a starting spot.

Nah, I don't. I think he's better than McCarthy and Barnes, and if Farrell ends up playing on the right, he'll be starting.

I like Farrell at CB, but we don't have two starting caliber outside backs, so you're probably right. I've not been impressed with Goncalves thus far though, doesn't seem as composed as you'd expect.

Nice to see a match with some tough challenges/tackles but players keeping their cool and helping each other up. Makes the Revs - Seattle match look even worse.

88' GOAL! Saborio turns at the top of the box and volley it in to the upper 90 to level at 2-2

Saborio given way too much space/time at the top of the box. Great finish.

Jeeze, that was impressive from Saborio. Would've liked to see him closed down a bit faster, but that was just a pretty move to create some space from Sabo.

91+ GOAL! Stephenson takes a feed from Grabavoy and nets the game-winner from the top of the box.

Ouch. Did that take a deflection, or a nasty skip off the turf? Couldn't tell.

One thing's for sure, Heaps needs to drill into the defense that they need to close players down at the top of the box. That's what, three similar goals they've given up in three games?

Heaps still must figure out how to get his team to see a game out. Faaak.

I didn't see if it was deflected, but it's another shot that just snuck under him. He's just not that good.

That said, how do you leave the top of the box wide open twice in the last 5 minutes? CBs/CMs need to keep their positioning.

Yeah, I'd say Bobby was at fault for two of the three RSL goals.

He had no shot at the goal by Saborio... but the other two were brutal.

Hmm. Same people who already think he's bad.

I think both those goals (not Sabo's) would've been saved on a dry pitch, FWIW, so I'm not blaming Shuttleworth in this case. First was just a knuckler, but the second was very much the defense's fault.

The only "good" thing I can come up with as far as the CM/CB positioning issue, is that it would likely (hopefully) sort itself out once Heaps settles on consistent pairings for both positions. If that happens.

Starting to think we're a team with a lot of "nice" pieces, but no real direction, and no difference-makers.

In other words, we're collecting talent. We're not building a team.

Wouldn't the first step to building a team be acquiring nice talent? This is year two of the rebuilding process.

Year one is usually evaluation and parting ways with the old guard.

Year two is major turn over, and acquiring nice talent that fits the play style of the new coach and mixes with whoever is left from year one.

Then the third year should see little changes and tweaks to make all the pieces work together as a single unit.

Serious question; what, exactly, is Heaps' playing style?

I have faith that he is trying, but I don't have faith he can get it done.
