According to independents (i.e. non-RSL employees) at the game, RSL doing much better in the 2nd half...bossing the game.
And that's a final....RSL lose MLS Cup their first preseason reserve scrimmage 2-0 on a PK and an own goal.
And with that, I'd like to cue george on his stance of the current stable of forwards... Did Findley see the field during this game?
Georg doesn't need to say anything - we've already established that this loss was Sabo's fault. No, Findley did not play. In fact, the only bonafide starter who saw action was Javi, and he only played 30 minutes.
Reading this thread has been 2 minutes of my life I'll never get back. I'll be sure to send the bill for "wasted work hours" to IBIK.
Tucson recommendations: Lodging - if you are looking for cheep, there are motels right off I-10 that run for 30-40 per night single occupancy. They are not great, but not as horrible as motels can be. Last year, the team stayed at the Double Tree Reid Park. It is about a 5 minute drive from the stadium and in central Tucson. I'm not sure if RSL is staying there again or not. If you want expensive and nice, try the Westin La Paloma or Marriott at Star Pass. Last year, LA Galaxy stayed at the La Paloma. Food - When you are here, get a Sonoran dog. They are Tucson's specialty. While most people would tell you El Guero Canelo's is the best place, I recommend Mr. Antojo's. Mr. Antojo's is right close to the University of Arizona, and the battle for supremacy between them and El Guero's is crazy (google "Mr. Antojos FBI El Guero" for the back story). The other local specialty is a respado, which is kind of a mix between a sundae and a snow cone. Try Oasis Fruit Cones for the best Respados in town. Other entertainment - Wildcat basketball is the hottest act in town. Depending on which RSL games you go to, you may be able to catch the games against Washington or Washington State. Nightlife - I don't drink, so I'm not sure on the best clubs or bars. Most people seem to really like Hotel Congress for the club scene. Any other questions, let me know. I've got tickets to both opening night when we play the Red Bulls and the championship game.
You know this sounds like a good idea. I just got back from the Caribbean and I'm not 100% sure I'm ready to go back into Winter full bore.
Just out of curiosity, why did we not see any of our forwards this match? I know Sabo just completed play for Costa Rica, but why no Findley, Sandoval? I think that was his name?
Who has even the slightest idea? It was a twitter feed is all. He didn't score is how he did, that much I know at least.
I'm sure the lineup was just to test the fringe guys and trialists. I'd expect to see more of a first choice lineup once we're playing in the desert diamond cup.
Jason also said he's hopefully to have his 2 new strikers by the time they go to Cali for a week and half.
Well, since the injury-fairy has already started sprinkling her magic dust on RSL's defense, both KWS & Schuler are now bona fide starters...
