Great save by Johnson on a long-range shot. Houston gets another set piece goal on the ensuing corner.
Had a feeling Santos would miss that one. Complete contrast with Larentowicz's PK last game . . . looked like he felt pressure to prove his worth and just didn't look confident at all. This game has gotten really sloppy after all of the substitutions.
FT 3-2. Good game for the first 60-70 minutes before the deluge of substitutions killed the flow of the game.
Not a bad effort from the first teamers. It certainly feels like we can see the light at the end of the tunnel for the MLS regular season, and I think the Fire could be something to watch this year.
nah, we were just roleplaying for the last three pages. highlights are supposed to be posted on the Fire website
You would have missed at least 2 of the Fire's 3 goals even if you watched, so those of us who watched the game are waiting on highlights for those. The Fire played well overall, and I agree about Larentowicz. He's stepped into what looks like a leadership role very quickly. I'm optimistic about our new midfield. Just have to sort out that left side, but Duka has actually looked promising.
I'll post it here because I don't think it deserves its own thread, but the Reserves are playing Carolina Coastal right now. starting line up Belshaw Chimbonda, Kinney, Lelis, Jumper Thompson, Paladini, Videira, Atouba Alex, Santos 3-1 at halftime Santos with a solo run that started at midfield Alex one times a cross from Videira Thompson finishes from an Alex pass inside the box
