Goalmouth scramble in front of SJ goal. How did we not score there?

Fire PK! See Frank - good things happen when we consistently put bodies in the other team's penalty area!

Fire 1 - 0 SJ. Now let's not lose focus and give up the quick equalizer.

No reason it couldn't happen. The nice thing about not having a DP is everyone will be equal. Between Duka and Atouba, either could win that spot. Or we could still sign someone else, but it would surprise me at this point.

As for MacDonald. I saw at some point that the Fire turned down a short-term loan back to Beerschot over the winter. I can kind of understand the want for him to have a full preseason, but he could have joined them for a month and a half or so and gotten some great game fitness from it...

I'd be content with (and I cannot spell his name) Amerikwa?!? He looked pretty good while he played for the Rapids. Though I'd really like it if the Fire finally went out and got a proven world class goal scorer.

Yes, anything could happen, but I bet Frankie brings him along slowly.....So he'll come in the 89th minute as sub, so he'll have 1-5 minutes to prove himself....

Perhaps he did look good, but four goals in 67 games in his career, not a great strike rate for a forward.

Agree about a "world class goal scorer" that would be nice.

Was it that low? Okay well then maybe we can keep him as a 'guest' player...

Watching the replay, Atouba did very well in the build up to the penalty. Berry played a long ball over the top, and there were two SJ players both about 5 yards closer to where it landed than Atouba, and he blew by both to get the ball, then put the cross in that lead to the penalty

Wishes they had Frankowski still. A finisher worthy of note. I do think Atouba looked promising though and would not mind at all playing him at LM to start and see what he can do. He does show energy. Yes Johnson though a good save goalie is not a good passer.
