    2014 PRESEASON

    Who:
    Charleston Battery v. Houston Dynamo
When: Saturday, March 1 @ 6:15 pm CST
    Where: Blackbaud Stadium; Charleston, SC
    Records: Charleston Battery (1-1-1)
    Houston Dynamo (6-3-1)
    Video: MLSsoccer.com

This is the final preseason game for the Dynamo. This game should be available to stream on the MLS website. Houston lost to the Battery in last year's Challenge Cup, 2-1.

Charleston lost to Seattle, 1-2, in the first game of the tournament. They play DC United on Wednesday night before facing Houston. Last year Charleston finished 3rd in the USL Pro regular season. They lost in the playoff semifinals to Orlando City.

The next Dynamo game is Saturday, March 8, in the season opener against New England.

Just to update the pre-game information.
Charleston and DC United tied on Wednesday night, 1-1.

Standings going into the final games on Saturday:

    1. DCU 4 pts +2
    2. SEA 4 pts +1
    3. CHB 1 pt -1
    4. HOU 1 pt -2

The winner of the DC-Seattle game will take the cup. If that game is a draw then it opens the door for Charleston to take the title with a win over Houston by several goals.

Neither Charleston nor Houston can win the Challenge Cup. Both DCU and SEA have 4 points. There will be a winner of their game awarding 3 points (that team wins title0 or a tie (and each team gets 1 pt giving both total of 5).

Best Hou or CHS can do is 4 pts.

    Be fun to watch regardless.

good preview of the match tomorrow from our local blog

Dan who runs the blog does a great job covering the Battery and this tournament so it would be worth checking over the next few days. Not sure if he is going to give them a 90 minute run out or not

Bruin in a rough challenge early on. Looks shaken up. He's back on the field though.

Ashe with a monster rip off of the woodwork just before the half. About 45 yards out.

Lopez on for Driver. It's opened things up a bit.

Awesome pass from Clark to Cascio for a nice goal.

Cascio is going to be a good player to have on the Dynamo.
