    Has anyone seen Splarg about.
He hasn't posted on this board in days?

Is there a set amount of time that we give to people who are "on the clock?"

As much as I would like to say we should go ahead without Splarg, having him select his team without the top 40+ stars (or however many rounds we get through) would seem to me like a sure-fire way to make him lose interest in the league and thus put a damper on it for all involved.

Wasn't he one of the shy ones last season?

    Buffalo Bill wanted in.....

    We need active managers only.

Well, we need to make a decision now then.
We had this problem on the chelsea board and ended up losing 3 DAYS.

Do we have any minimum numbers we have to follow?... I know on premier league you could possibly have a 2-5-3... Is their a minimum of 3 defenders we have to start?... So basically only 4-4-2 or 3-5-2?...

I'm also burning the midnight oil here.

Might have to get Hal to give me a wake up call again.

Is there anyone online now that expressed interest before? BuffloSoldier doesn't seem to be around either.

How 'bout we find a neutral party (someone outside us 9) on the boards now with EPL knowledge and a few hours to kill, and have them select a team on Splarg's behalf? We can then decide later if that team is to be managed by Splarg or someone else, but at least we start the season with 10.

We had this problem last year. We tried two things to help expedite the draft.

    1. We had managers PM their next pick to another manager who is active in the draft. They gave proxy picking instructions.

    2. I recruited a replacement for an absent manager, Stonebury United. 2nd day into the draft the original manager shows up. I offered to quit, but Ted dropped out and that manager assumed the draft Stonebury United had made up till then. It caused tension. Therefore, I do not support replacing Brian at this time. The first matches aren't until 16 Aug, so we have some time.

Anyone have Brian on icq? aol instant messanger? or know his phone to call and let him know he's up?

Darr, in answer to your question: You have lots of flexibility in formations. You can play a max of 3 forwards, 5 mids, or 5 defenders.
1-2-5-3 (GK-Def-Mid-Fwd) is the most popular formation chosen, followed by 1-3-4-3 and 1-3-5-2
You can even play a 1-5-5-0, I think.

When you look at the scoring, mids, defenders, and GK get bonus points for having a clean sheet if playing 60 min or more.

Plus defender goals count more than midfielder goals, which count more than striker goals.

You have to draft 2 keepers, 5 defenders, 5 midfielders and 3 strikers.

    The budget is 100 Million.

The best thing to do is update your Fantasy Team page as you make your picks.

I dunno, what if he's stuck in traffic, Jones isn't here yet, he's what 20 Mins away from a PC... How do we know Splarg isn't doing the same thing?

I guess we can wait abit... but maybe if we know we wont be able to get online, (but only if you know you wont be online, otherwise it might spoil strategy) we could list 5-10 players and rank them, who we would like to select in the upcomming rounds...

well it's now 6.30 and we've accomplished one pick. At some point I think we have to make a call one way or another and move on -- some can only be online until 8, as I recall

    Excellent work lad

Keep it up... and stay awake too... why dont we just go ahead and draft, this is killing everyone... worse case scenario we lose someone who was innactive last year... best case, he shows up only missing one pick and can scramble back...
