Expecting a tough game, Spurs beat Swansea at their own game by pressing really high, a 442 here perhaps.

Indeed , a though match, and their top guy, Michu, is also fit for this match.

I hope United don't concede sloppy goals from set pieces and crosses this time ...

Rafael is still not fit for the game but Smalling or Jones should make the job done.

I thought Smalling was great last time out, but I guess unless Fergie decides not to risk Rio and Vida at the same time, he will miss out. I feel like Jones will get the nod at RB and Evans and Smalling will be on the bench.

An embarrassment of riches compared to most of the season so far.

I'm expecting the tend of God team selection to continue but at some point the geezers will snake their way into the xi.

For some strange reason, it's always like this at United. Players are supposed to be out for few weeks but they miss half of season. Our medical team is not that good.

no central defender on the bench!!!! interesting.

That is a bit weird, but not so much so. Evans can play LB, Jones can play CB and Carrick as well, so with midfield subs available, we'll be okay. My guess is that Rio and Smalling with both feature from the start in the next game.

Evans/Vida is our least effective CB pairing.

ehhhh possibly, but this is about controlling midfield more than anything else. Also, with Swansea not blessed with great headers of the ball, I think one of Vida/Evans might score off a set piece.

You are right, but there is something about the combination that I feel leaves us open to something stupid.

Michu seems really likeable as a person, interesting hearing about Laudrup in his interview. I'd like to see him get an international call up, his performance so far this season should be a justifaction for at least a try.

His goals have all been pretty classy, love his finish against Arsenal

Yeah, given that he made it up from the lower leagues and how good/stacked Spain are right now, I would imagine he would be absolutely ecstatic at 2-3 caps, 1-2 of them being in friendlies. He could suit their system very well though, closer to the front.

And I would argue that Vidic/Jones is a less effective and more worrying CB pairing. :D
    johno repped this.

I think if our strikers get at Chico we could give them trouble, he has his good moments but can be a bit rash and very similar to Vidic when beaten in that he can often do something rash.
