We are asking him to do what Rooney does, probably with less defensive responsibilities. How is that asking too much?

Still think we should have sold him a couple of summers back.

From the Goal side that looked a dodgy tackle at first.

But when you see it from behind you see Smalling is already sliding and Long steps into him ignoring the ball himself since he's looking for the penalty.

    Risky though.

Carrick in boss mode already. Kagawa getting lots of early touches too.

Because he hasn't played this role for Dortmund as he had more wing support there, whereas here he doesn't..

Don't know what Sirmanc was complaining about, this is kagawa best role, if he can't do it there he just can't do it.

Looking forward to seeing who can show some Authority in the frontline today.

Carrick should start bossing things I hope, since Valencia seems pretty much a grunt, Young and Welbeck and cleverly all aren't particularly cemented in the first team or seem the type to tell others what to do. And Kagawa is just generally new and back from injury and I don't know if he has the language skills/attitude to order anyone around.

Glad things have started well or else I would have feared it could have ended up like some of our ill-fated league cup defeats.

Yeah create and score both on his briefing. I think the hope I'd that with him and Welbeck up there the hope may be to keep the ball in the final third long enough for the second and third waves to do damage.

Valencia's passing\crossing isn't even good enough for a conference side. What's happened to him?

Watching our goal again, that was some horrible defending.
