yes your highness. in a perfect worl i agree with you. now, if you are standing in a 3 man wall after the gk asks for three and you see a danger man at the top of the box with none of the other outfield players covering him, would you peel off in that situation? or do you stand your post and let the play unfold?
looking back at our season highlights so far. the low cut back from the right has been very effective, especially in the big games. in general the right side attacks have been productive whether from Rafael or Valencia. if we could get the left sided ones to catch up hmm
I think having Rafael at RB gives the winger a real advantage on that side, since he's much more productive in attack than Evra. While evra gets up into the attacking third a fair bit he really seldom does much with it.
He does have the advantage of being the only left footer who regularly plays on the left. We play so many right footed players down the left that it is much harder for him to be an added weapon. For him to be dangerous he's either got to create for himself with his dribbling or he has to time his overlap perfectly. It has been some time since we've had a winger on the left who drives people back the way that a right footed winger can on the right.
A right footed fullback playing on the left (Fabio) would not be bad, our right wing keep going out, a player with Fabio's ability could really benefit with the positions and chances Evra gets to run at defenses.
Evra's end-product isn't great, regardless. IMO, he went from being one of the top LBs in the world in 2009 to dropping off drastically after the 2010 WC debacle.
