God I hate the 4-4-2 with this team. Can have lots of the ball but on the counter the opposition have the better chances.
We have a pair of wingers on the pitch who are a) incapable of beating a man if he isn't at running speed before a defender is in position and b) afraid of trying to beat a man if he isn't at running speed before a defender is in position. Consistent. Apart from the bellyaching -- Rio and Smalling have dealt with Villa okay given the circumstances we've thrust upon them. Carrick's passing has been quite good. We need our on rails wingers to make runs into the channel though because RvP has been dying to hit the ball round the corner, but only Rooney is making the run.
We should have kept Fabio and played him as a left winger this season. Rafael has been our best attacking player today.
Our wingers might be looking at Nani and thinking that trying something new/different isn't a good strategy. That boring and "consistent" will keep them out of the manager's post-game thoughts. Anyway, this is what the team wants the wing players to do. No sense in blaming them for following instructions.
If you put Valencia in an elementary maze, he would die there, after running full speed into the first wall he saw, 15 times.
I hate when players gives us trouble when they play against us but when they join you wonder what the hell we got, for the second time get Young off FFS
I get why people complain when Nani loses the ball. What I don't get is why they don't understand that he loses the ball because he's willing to try to beat his man even when circumstances don't favor him and how the ability to do that is what makes him a special player.
