Couple things. When Rooney got that ball, Young should have made the diagonal. He was useless standing out there. He would have cleared space for an Evra overlap. I told you counter attacks would be dangerous. That one was close 3vs2.
But consistent....and that's what we want apparently. It's nice of us to set up so that AV looks good.
We need to have Scholes or Carrick just attempt a shot on one of those layoffs. It hasn't been on, but that doesn't matter. Rooney and RvP and whomever makes the run inside is getting crowded out. We need to thin that out by hitting a shot or two from deep and stopping their CMs from cheating.
This past couple of games have shown that, sadly, Giggs and Scholes need to retire. Scholes is a complete no show on defense and that allows opposing teams to stroll up the middle of the field. Villa see that and are counter attack right through the gap left by Scholes.
