Capacity of 33,444 for NYCFC at Yankees Stadium

This map has a capacity of around 49,000. So this will be about 2/3 of that. Probably tarp off the very top level and some other sections.

How good the atmosphere will have a direct effect on attendance. The Supporters Group need to be organized, loud and in large number. And hopefully, the front office will set aside a General Admission Supporters Section by learning from the mistakes that other clubs that are well supported but lack a GA Supporters Section (Vancouver, Toronto, Philadelphia for example). I believe if Van/Tor/Phil could go back and change their decision, they would have GA instead of assigned seating Supporters Section from the beginning.

I would guess at least 19K. Hard to say now as plenty of time to build up and make major signings. If they do make a splash with a transfer or signing I'd add another 5K per major signing.

We do not rename teams here in MLS General or in N&A. Please do not refer to teams by anything other than their given name.

I like that set up for the soccer pitch, lots of clean lines of sight. I'd hope they average atleast 20k.

I'll go with 18k, followed by the "They're not a real NY team," dismissals and the "It's such a huge market...let's put in a third team and they'll truly bring in the fans!" statements.

I predicted 23k but now that seems low. NYYFC are doing a lot of the neat little things that Seattle and Toronto FC did for their season ticket holders. Received a call from Jason Kries today thanking me for my deposit earlier this week.

I'd give them 22-25K to start, with that lasting for a 2-3 year honeymoon....maybe longer if they get their new stadium quickly. Probably settle down to 20k by 2018...unless they really win a lot. Then i could see growth to 28-30. I really don't know what to expect. I could see plausible situations where they are very popular and/or completely ignored.

I'd say that 22-25K estimate is a fair one. More toward the higher side if the team makes a big splash DP-wise.

Do they have a supporter group that is not affiliated with Manchester city. If I could get a number for the amount of members, maybe then we could make more accurate guesses. Otherwise, I will say 10k after initial push.

16k for both NYCFC and RBNY. Some people from NY and CT who don't really care about the Red Bulls will go to NYCFC instead. If NYCFC can outdraw the Red Bulls, it won't be by much. Only so many people in the area who want to go see MLS.

My guess is 30,000, if they will get some big names with the help of Mansour.

    What do you guys think?

If they have 3 big name DP's, then they will average 25,000+, if not they will average 18,000-19,000.

I predict 1 NYCFC fan-in-seat hour for every Yankee Stadium grounds crew worker-hour spent converting the stadium back and forth between soccer and baseball configuration all season long.

20,000 plus easily, which is good enough for this league.

I would be shocked if NYCFC doesn't have 3 DP's on their roster to start the season. Average attendance will depend who those three DP's are. If they are Beckhams, Keane or Bradley type of DP's then 30,000-35,000 average. If they are more like Valeri or Higuian (Columbus') type of DP's (don't get me wrong I'd kill for those kind of DP's here in Chicago) 20,000-25,000.
