That's the beauty of these boards. We get to talk football and share our opinions, which may differ, but most of us bleed orange.

I just got finished watching the match again, and I'm very happy to see Luiz Camargo getting back into shape. He is another player with great skills.

    A couple of observations:

    1) Backline was solid. Taylor had a great match defensively as did Cameron. Boswell and Ashe were solid. Yeah, Ashe's delivery was 'ok' but he did whip in a few dangerous balls near the end.

    2) Sturgis - Pleasantly surprised. Very good positionally, distribution was ok, rarely if ever caught out, and his anticipation was good in terms of challenging Portland players throughout the midfield. Didn't get too involved if at all offensively but I'm sure Dom told him that defense was his first and foremost priority. A good match for him overall.

    3) Camargo - Very good match. Played a little too deep in the beginning but as time went on, found himself more and more in front of Sturgis and just behind the forwards where he should be.

    4) Carr - Liking his filling in in midfield. Amazing how many headers he wins. Getting the job done although I would have liked to have seen him bury that minute 87 shot (credit to Perkins though).

    5) Forward line - Did ok and won their fair share of balls. Weren't very dangerous though end of first start of 2nd half. I like Kandji and, like others, see him being a very good option off the bench depending up on the situation or a spot starter.

Subs were good although I didn't like Clark's dive at the end. Stay on your feet and shoot. From where we were, Carr looked like he was taken down by the last man but others have said not so clear so I'll defer.

Boyd didn't do much but remember, this is a guy who feasted on quality service in Scotland. Not quite getting that same type service with Portland but if they start to find him more, watch out, he could be a handful.

Man of the Match had to be Troy Perkins. Saved a deserved point for Portland.

Same old issue in terms of scoring goals but I figure you can't score every match.

When EB started moving out of their section late in the game I first was pissed thinking that one of their supporters got kicked out so they're all leaving. After reading what really went down...damn...I'm sorry I assumed. It really is shitty that EB is in the crosshairs by BBVA staff. For what it's worth...I tweeted this:

After seeing Boyd, I was glad we didn't get him. It would have been like playing with 10 men while he sat down to drink mate con leche with the other team's keepers. I am not sure if Davis could have fed him enough crosses for Boyd to score.

I am convinced that the type of DP we need is closer than we think. We need DeRosario version 2012. He wouldn't bring in crowds, but he would provide a stronger link between the midfield and the forwards. Are there any other explosive, unpredictable DeRo-like midfielders out there? Is he making big $$$ DP salary now?

Agreed about Boyd, Glenn/Eddie said the same about his ineffectiveness so far.

Let me explain what happened last night so that people can understand that we weren't kicked out of the stadium (we actually stayed inside the stadium until the final whistle, we just left the stands) or that we left the stands for some other reasons. Oh and thanks a lot to the Brickwall Firm for their solidarity and to the fans for their support. This is what happened last night:

BBVA Compass Stadium and the Houston Dynamo FO decided that EL Batallon had to stand in Section 133 for last night's game, they even put a yellow cord in there so that no other supporter could walk into that section, and like 25 securities/cops to watch us. When we walked in they wouldn't even let us walk down the stairs between sections 133 and 134, we had to walk to the corner to go down into our section. Me and like a group of 10-15 people were standing on the aisle and stairs of Section 133 for like 75 minutes and no one said anything (we weren't there because we wanted to be there, but there was not enough room in the section, it was packed... and I must say that we weren't even blocking half of the aisle, people could easily walk through there.) Then at the 70 something minute Raul Gutierrez, the Senior Manager of Guest Services and Security at BBVA Compass Stadium comes in a very high-handed attitude to tell us that we had to walk into our section and clear the aisle and the stairs, but they wouldn't let us go to section 134 (where there was plenty of space and "supporters" sitting eating nachos) nor stand on the bleachers in our section, so where the hell were we supposed to go??? We all had tickets in the supporters sections. There were kids and 3 pregnant women in our section. Making another 15 people stand in that section was absolutely impossible without creating a safety hazard for everyone. That's what happened yesterday, and that's why we left the stands, because that guy and his security staff wouldn't listen to us, they just started threatening us that if we were standing on the bleachers he was going to kick us out of the stadium, yeah the same guy that on a meeting we had on Friday with them, told us that his job was to keep people safe inside the stadium.

I would hope that all of this is just hiccups by a new management group in our stadium, and that things will sort themselves out. Communication is the best way to try and get all of these issues sorted and the man at the top would be the person to communicate with.

Nigel, that is not hiccups. Again, after MLS Cup in Home Depot it all went downhill.

I'd challenge anyone to debate whether or not the bad behaviour at the MLS Cup in Home Depot by some Dynamo Supporters reflected badly on our team, our supporters, and our City. I happen to believe it did, and I was embarrassed to be in that section.

The reaction by MLS, and the stadium is probably appropriate, and although some might consider it heavy handed what would you suggest?

Communication is the way to work all of this out - I assume that the leaders of the various groups have established lines of communication with the folks who operate the stadium. When there are clear guidelines, folks know exactly how they are expected to behave and what the consequences are for any bad behaviour.

As I said - give it time to work itself out.

I would post a Toro review of the players and the game, but I am still pissed about the treatment I too received in "OUR" new stadium.

After the first game I wrote off the rude employees as nerves and the FO (or whoever runs the stadium) having everyone on edge to have a perfect day.

The second game started off great. We came early and met friends at Luckys for a beer, had a burger from the Fuddruckers truck, saw the Dynamo Girls and Diesel, and then proceeded tob grab some freebies for my son on Orange Ave. He got 5 new sling bags, tons of stickers, 2 scarves, a mag, 3 granola bars, and 4 boxes of Lucky Charms (the lady ga

What! There's a Fuddruckers Truck in the area?? man I love that place! I'm going to have to find it so we can get some burgers before the game.

If the security staff is saying one thing and doing another....that is a BIG problem. This should be disputed with whoever is above them in a manner that would promote a change.

Just my opinion...the following is horses**t:
-Overcrowding a supporters section just so you can eyeball them more than other sections.
-Create rules that you contradict or are unrealistic. Bleacher rule and aisle rule are absurd when the section is overcrowded.
-People sitting down in the supporters section. I've been in the supporters section before and I stood and sang the entire game. Why? Respect for the cause. I stood up and sang in my section more than some in the "supporters section" on Tuesday. Is it against the law to sit???....no...but damn, show respect to the cause. Don't be in that section just for the cheap tix. Put some effort in.

This sort of annoyed me after the game, but I'm not sure exactly why it did....

I kept seeing Portland fans around the stadium, even though there weren't that many of them. After the game one was walking next to me in the street, I told him I went to Portland last year and enjoyed it and told him the people up there were really nice. But instead of being cool, he started going on about how nobody was standing here and how everybody stood in Portland, how the crowd was so much better up there. I told him there were a lot of people standing here too, and he said "yea, like what? 50, 100?" I told him people here are different than in Portland, but what I should have said was people in Portland were a lot nicer than he was. I should have told him he sounded more like a Seattle fan. That would have shut him up.

Bingo!! but this goes completely counter to the "im a martyr" narrative that is being portrayed.

when people in my row stand we are told to sit by those behind us (even though it's a CK in the 90th minute of a tied match). That's how Houston rolls. You should have told them, yep you're right we're still a better team than you.

The problem is that this has become a corporate stadium and the Front Office and the BBVA Stadium staff are going to cater to the corporate yuppies that think this is the new hip thing to go to.

People have known that I sit behind the goal and I harass opposing keepers and players, because it is fun, and I can strike a nerve. Saturday, some woman told me to stop because I was ruining the game for her. I told her that if she didn't like me here, then she could take a flying leap. Some big hombre in a BBVA shirt told me to tone it down and I told him that as long as I am not vulgar or obscene, I can say whatever I want, and I can boo Don Garber whenever I want. I keep the rules on me because these jerkoffs think that they can tell you to do something and pull the power trip. Fans, know the stadium policies and no one can mess with you. As for standing, I will stand whenever I feel like it. Don't like it, stand up with me and show your support for the team. Quit sitting in your lush Euro-seat eating $30 nachos and drinking $20 wine. Be a real fan!

As for the supporters group, I think the biggest problem that I have seen, and remember, as the President of Founding Father of Tally's Whackers and Waibel's Warriors, I am unaffiliated, is that they sold seats in the supporters group to random fans that saw a cheap seat in the lower deck and bought it. The SG's did not have a chance to look at these people, nor do I believe that the SG's had a chance to talk to these people and tell them the expectations. Because of that, you are going to see some yuppies that sit in the SG section eating nachos and not respecting the cause.

After the MLS Cup, certain people have a huge bulls eye on them. Some for justified actions, but other for just being associated. Is it right? No, but what I think there needs to be healthy communication. BBVA jack wagons come down and tell people to get out of the aisles. Ok buddy, where do you want us to go. Help me help you. I hope that this happened, but one thing I have seen is that some (not all) people get an explosive attitude and when corporate suits who have never been to a game get threatened, they pop that attitude up.

I want to see the South End of the stadium be similar to what I saw in Portland. I want us to have an intimidating home presence that, combined with the heat, makes playing at the Vault almost impossible for opponents. I hope that these differences can be solved.

PS....as for the game. Corey Ashe couldn't cross a street and we should probably fire Dom!

I miss talking smack at Rev fans with you-you are more creative than me, and Wade's wife said I was the most creative heckler she has ever come across.

BTW-what is going on with Waibel's Warriors-Bald is Beautiful...we shaving heads this summer. I gotta know whether to cut now or wait and let the lettuce grow for greater effect.

Will Bruin is taking over Bald is Beautiful this year. That event has gone corporate as well, which is great, because it started with a joke and it turned into a massive charity event.

Great comment at Bill Hamid on Saturday, "Hey Bill, I heard that the US olympic Committee wanted you to carry the flag, but after seeing you play in Olympic Qualifying, they realized that you would have dropped it." Gold!

that's cold. I try not to heckle anyone for their national team play-although I got on EJ for scoring on us and asking him why "he couldn't do that for the National team" to which he heard and just shook his head at me.

Just thought I'd take this opportunity to mention that I got to shake Waibel's hand after the first game, he happened to be in our section chatting with someone and my buddy and I went to say hi. Super nice guy and he seemed really excited to be there and it made our gameday experience.

And I have no hair already or else I'd join in the growing, I'll definitely donate though.

It'll be during the June 16 / FCD game. Our company tried to combine it w/ the Curing Cancer Fund & Texas Children's Hospital as we already have a "Day at the Dynamo charity event for them... and fyi we'll be doing it before the LA Galaxy game), but they didn't like our terms. They are doing it solo w/ the Dynamo
