So according to Vermes, all they have to is play "well" and score goals, sounds simple enough, i'm kind of scared now. -__- <-----mourinho face
It's pretty hard to top that one. An Canetti's list of possible opponents for the Dynamo Charities Cup he should have this criteria: - Name team from decent league - CHECK - Will attract local fans of team/league not currently Dynamo fans - CHECK - Has a greater than 50% chance of brawling, players running on to pitch to fight, and a 25% chance of a "Malice at the Palace" melee - CHECK
Last time the Dynamo got a 2-0 agg. lead was in the 2007 Champions Cup semifinal against Pachuca but the difference is the Sporks are NOT Los Tuzos.
MLS need to review the absurd yellow given to calen carr and remove it..........no way that was a yellow. no way......................calen is now my number two Dynamo Crush after OBG......... comeonyouorangecrushthesporkcs
Hold them down early. Watch them start to stutter/panic and then push more folks forward. At that point, release the hounds -- add Kanji and let him go. Tell him if he doesn't finish, he walks back.
Yes, but the key tonite is not giving up the lead in 20 minutes and then start playing offense. How many times have we all seen two-leg series where a team up a goal or two going into the second leg just bunkers and then invariably they give up the equalizer and start playing better and you say "where the hell was that earlier?". Vancouver went into a shell far too early vs. LA and had nothing left for a comeback. Play smart but not passive. We have enough talent to win outright. Speaking of cards, I could see cards racking up in this game
Let the record reflect that I agree with WC. On that note -- SKC can make a lot of teams look like they are bunkering when they don't intend to. They like to play so far up the field. So don't be quick to moan at what you see is a bunker during periods when they get us pushed back. Team just needs to be disciplined, organized, defend like they did in Houston and catch SKC on a counter. Chances will come. Also -- it wont hurt to absorb a little pressure and let SKC run around all excited and drain themselves a little.
i agree. like westside said be conservative and pick your spots, buuuuuut..... sometimes when they are in attack mode they leave this Maginot Line-type gap/unoccupied space on either side of their defensive midfielder and the sideline. if one of our defenders can poke/get the ball out to a streaking OBG or Carr into that space, make a move on Roger Espinoza then *bam* one-on-one with Aurelien. i'm not saying we should go balls out the first 15 minutes, but if its there put a scare into them and MAKE them think twice about heavy #s forward.
Jeez, I agree with rey. For a textbook example of how not approach the game, go back to Bunker Bob Bradley coming into Robertson with Chivas in 2006. Ante Razov got a first minute chance and then they played everyone behind the ball to the point where Dom went 3 in the back at half. Now, a red card greatly helped us but we had so much possession that chances were coming and one was going in. They never kept us honest, you need to attack to keep it from being a shooting gallery on the Dynamo half.
Bunker Bob is funny, but I find it ironic that that we are playing a team, that under Gansler made bunkering a permanent style of play and won a cup doing that.
just for the record............. F-ck KC and their terrible BBQ! We own you KC and no one wears Columbia Blue but us!
Yes, FSSW. I wish NBC had picked it up as a back-up in case what is happening in NY happened. They've known about that storm for a while.
The game is being broadcasted on NBC Sports as well due to the postponement of the NYRB v United match.
DYnamo need to survive next 10 minutes or so, SKC's pace will slow on the pressure. Ref calling NOTHING, Carr could have had an early yellow. Interesting to see if he continues like that.
