you got to pay attention during shooting drills if you're behind the goal people. back in the Robertson days when i was in the TA southside one of my favortie things to do was go in early and hangup banners, so that I can then stand in the concourse and try to catch/punch away/trap errant shots. 5 star would get all nervous on me, but hey i'm a big boy. one time when we played the LAG, someone from TA was yelling/talking sht to the LA players while i had my back turned to the field hanging banners. immediately 2 or 3 balls came within 2 or 3 feet of where we were standing. i'm thinking those ccksckrs were purposely aiming at us.
the thing about hanley hitting the kid, the kid and parents were sitting maybe in center sideline, front row and balls never really go out that way, totally bad kick and i'm not sure if it was deflected by deric or the goal... i sit about within 15 feet of those temporary goals, right in front of where hanley and deric train and i've never been popped or been near a stray ball, i've been dying to punch a ball back though. do other stadiums also have those sideline temporary goals? i never noticed it before and don't see the point because by the time hall (or opponent gk) come out, deric and other back ups are done with those drills
Distributes the wear and tear on the grass in the p-box by shifting some of the drills to the sideline.
I saw it. Handily went over to check on the kid and Tally Hall went over for a visit as well. All seemed ok, but the kid's parents now have an excuse if the kid decides to grow up bad.
This game's domination reminded me of another dominant game. Especially after watching the game over again.
Any of you NYC experienced folks know where I can get a pre-game burrito in NY? This tradition has not lost in a long time!
Try a Sabrett's hot dog from a stand on the median as you go into the Lincoln Tunnel from Manhattan. Can't beat NYC street vendor dogs, even if it is likely to get an intestinal ailment.
take the subway down to the WTC PATH then take it over to Hoboken. There are some Mexican places outside of the station (okay at least one of them is a bit of a walk), but you can get your burrito over there before heading over to Harrison (2 more stops). There really is nothing between the PATH station and RBA. At least when I was up there for our match last spring. And judging by how much Harrison was in the red, I doubt anything has developed since then.
There's a Five Guys right next to the PATH station now, but that's it unless you want to walk to Ironbound or Newark.
I think we're both talking about the Harrison PATH station. Oh boy, that could be fun wearing orange and cramming in there after the match. I had an orange beanie on and my brother was like "loose the hat". I look over and ESC is squeezing into every last inch of the same car. I think your best food options would be Hoboken if you wanted pregame eats en route to arena.
The Five Guys is actually right next to the Harrison PATH stop, its brand new. Its not much, I just wanted to mention it since it wasn't there last time you were there and you (understandably) figured not much had popped up in the meantime.
Exactly so. I think the whole Five Guys thing is an attempt to undermine a Dynamo victory by diverting me from a pregame burrito. According to Mr. Google, if I take the PATH to Newark Penn Station, there are a slew of Mexican Food places in that area. I can think take a train back to Harrison or just walk it. Mr. Google also reports plenty of places in the city -- but I'm thinking Newark will have better.
just go one more stop past Harrison then circle back. Take the PATH, don't walk it. It's literally a minute and half ride to that stop.
I have joined in the festivities and have invited people over to eat on my dime to keep the tradition alive. We've been undefeated so far.
Hmm, I like a good burrito almost as much as I like an undefeated streak. Maybe I will take up this cause as well.
