FCD @ Houston, all-time: 05/06/06 HOU 4-3 FCD 08/12/06 HOU 1-0 FCD 08/23/06 HOU 3-0 FCD, U.S. Open Cup 06/03/07 HOU 2-1 FCD 08/19/07 HOU 1-0 FCD 11/02/07 HOU 4-1 FCD (a.e.t.), MLS Playoffs 04/06/08 HOU 3-3 FCD 06/26/08 HOU 1-1 FCD 05/09/09 HOU 1-0 FCD 05/05/10 HOU 0-1 FCD 05/28/11 HOU 2-2 FCD 06/16/12 HOU 2-1 FCD That's 8-1-3 with 24 goals scored and 13 allowed.
Some game notes: 1. The Astros parking lots will officially not be available for this game. We'll see if cash parking magically appears in those lots but don't count on it. The Astros game starts at 6 pm and they are honoring Berkman and Oswalt before the game so lots may fill up early. 2. The Houston Dash are playing a preseason game against the Houston Aces following the Dynamo game. Admission is included with your Dynamo ticket. That is the final Dash preseason game before their season kicks off on April 12.
El Capitán summary: FCD currently holds the cannon. The current rules for determining possession: 1. Head-to-head regular season series (W-L-T) 2. Head-to-head goal differential in regular season series 3. Result of playoff series (if applicable) 4. Result of CONCACAF Champions League series (if applicable) 5. Result of SuperLiga playoff match (if applicable) 6. Result of SuperLiga group match (if applicable) 7. Result of Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match (if applicable) 8. Holder retains trophy So the winner of Saturday's game gets possession. If that game is a tie, then we will have to wait and see if the two teams play again later this year in the Open Cup or MLS playoffs. If they do not then FCD would retain the cannon. All-time record in Texas Derby games, Houston is 9-4-7 (W-L-T). By year: Year Winner Record 2006 Houston Dynamo 2–1–1 2007 Houston Dynamo 3–0–1 2008 FC Dallas 0–0–3 2009 Houston Dynamo 2–1–0 2010 FC Dallas 1–0–1 2011 Houston Dynamo 1–0–1 2012 Houston Dynamo 1–0 2013 FC Dallas 1–0
Dallas..."That place is crawling with crackheads and debutantes. And half of 'em play for the Cowboys."
Supposed to rain. Again. So far, that's worked pretty well for us. On tv they say like 20-40% chance but weather underground has been at 70-80% since the first time Saturday appeared in their forecast. And they were right about the other game nights.
The WeatherUnderground forecast for Saturday night @ 7 pm 71F 57% humidity wind 15 mph ESE 40% chance of rain 95% cloud cover The humidity will rise to 75% by 10 pm but the chance of rain stays at about 40%.
this one was of my favorites. Carl Lewis Field; 3,000 tickets only; the SGs standing directly behind the goal, Shaka Hislop in goal fresh off the plane from the 2006 WC; "smoking and drinking on a tuesday night".
Hall HRH--WiH-Taylor-Ashe --Rico Cascio--Davis --OBG Omar--Bruin I say Omar because their D looks vulnerable to the speed he can provide. If Davis/OBG are tired, sub in Andrew and Barnes, respectively and bring those two off the bench
I like our track record with Cascio on the field this season with an average of 3 goals per half. So if he stays on for both halves this game, that should have us winning 6-0 as long as Taylor doesn't ball watch again. But really: 2-1 Houston
Not that it matters, but I don't want people to think I'm stupid... My WU for East Bernard has consistently had 80% chance for a week now. I checked in Houston, using the Wundermap app for ipad, and it's odd. Every little spot in Houston, and there are many, have different probabilities, from 50 to 80. Quite strange. But I figure it's probably going to rain. Hopefully the Dash scrimmage will still go on, unlike the Celtic football game they cancelled without ever announcing it. Good thing about BBVA, my seats stay dry, and I'm in the front row, upper deck. Maybe on a windy night I might get wet, but so far it's rained 3 times and never had a drop of rain hit me. And yeah, I wanna win!
We were sitting in our seats waiting for the game. An usher came up and told us we had to leave. I said we were waiting for the exhibition match and he said it had been cancelled because of the weather. I told him they really should have announced it, he agreed. But then most people didn't even know about it anyway.
Folks, this ain't the FCD of old.. they have a good coach called Oscar Pareja who was a great player and it seems now a good coach. He did well turning Colorado around and FCD has won 3 in a row I believe. They have some good players in the midfield and in attack. Jevaughn Watson will have a red card so we don't have to worry about he revenge factor with him. We are gonna need to play disciplined defense and do better with our set pieces on offense to win this.
They have had some good players for a couple of years, they just haven't been able to make it all come together before. Maybe this year. Hope not. And still they can only get 16,000 to go to games on a beautiful night with no Cowboys or Rangers.
2 wins in a row. Frisco's first 4 matches: Frisco 3-2 Montreal Frisco 1-1 SKC Frisco 3-1 Chivas Frisco 2-1 Portland I agree, their attack has been dangerous and our D has to be on point. Mauro Diaz is the player to watch out for with 2 goals and an assist this season. The kid brings a dynamic to FCD that we may have never seen before.
