I would shit a brick if we fielded a lineup like that. There's no excuse for putting Avila on the wing so that Dunfield can play

I think Dunfield has more upsides than JDG at this point, clearly something is happening between Winter and De Guzman to make him think Dunfield should be starting. If anything I'd say take JDG out, put Avila in as a CAM with Frings and Dunfield as CDMs, and throw Lambe in as the winger.

    Replace avila with Plata
    Replace dunfield with avila
Replace screech/horshack with aceval, henry, hardin or even a trained walrus if you have to.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone adovocate for Harden to start. Ever.

Let's try a whole week without Plata....something tells me we will be better!

Agree that Plata's a bit over rated. He has flashes of brilliance. Definately a fast guy and he tries, damn it, he tries. But his shots are pretty week and his size is definately a handicap.

Plata is much better off the bench to change up the pace later in the game. But if koevermanns and soolsma are out we don't have much other choice up top

So glad we are playing RSL only once this year...

I think TFC will get a surprise positive result from this match.

Other than a terrific work ethic....he is totally over rated. Last year I described him as not much more than a gimmick. Have seen little (read nothing) to convince me I was wrong.

Classic kind of athlete that gets over rated in Toronto (all sports).....work hard and look like you care......multiple-year deal!

    LOL!

But I honestly think this is the kind of heavy underdog situation where TFC could surprise. Sure, this specific opponent away has been a grave yard for the club over the years but with Frings in midfield I just think that this will be a better organized side and could generate some things on the counterattack. It's not like they're facing Barca at the Nou Camp: RSL lost to Chivas USA at home a few matches ago, no? So I'm betting they'll pull a Chelsea.

yes and I don't think anyone has ever advocated for a trained walrus in the starting 11. you may have missed my point.

Hey a trained walrus would be awesome. It would stay back on defense and not move out of position.

But yes, I can tell you don't like Emory.

According to the It's Called Football podcast, Silva has the flu and so won't be available for this match.

On the positive side, it sounds like Dicoy Williams will be back soon. Not for this game, but perhaps in a few weeks.

The walrus would, likely, be a bit quicker than Acevel too....might not be as useful on set pieces.

    I suggest:

[LINEUP-4-3-3]Johnson, Koevermans, Soolsma, JDG, Frings, Avila, Morgan, Dunno, Whoever, Eckersley, Kocic[/LINEUP-4-3-3]

Lambe at right wing if Soolsma can't play. Plata at left wing if Koev can't play and RJ at center forward. Defense is weak whoever we put in there. I'd like to see Henry start, but I wonder how much of an effect his last game in Utah would have on his performance (remember how bad he was last year @RSL?). As long as it's not Aceval starting (really think he still needs time) I'm fine. Just have to hope Morgan and Ecks can be a little more conservative tonight

[LINEUP-4-3-3]Avila, Johnson, Lambe, Frings, de Guzman, Dunfield, Morgan, Aceval, Cann, Eckersley, Kocic [/LINEUP-4-3-3]
On the bench: Roberts, Henry, Harden, Emory, Stinson, Burgos, Plata

The disgusting thing is that the only thing you got wrong was Emory

Excuse me while I go downstairs and take my frustration towards Winter and redirect it to the basement wall

TFC wearing the white kits tonight. Can't remember if this is the first match they've worn them this year.

Have to admit, they look pretty good. Might take a while for them to really grow on me.

Dammit. Johnson should've buried that one. Got a good run to the top of the 18 and blasted it wide.

Gee, what a shock. TFC is losing already. 1-0 RSL off a corner kick set piece.

Gonna be a long night again, folks.
