One maligned TFC guy who has had a understated yet effective performance so far today has been Sturgis. He has done a great job of picking up late runs from the opposition midfielders.

Frankly, a pretty impressive performance by all of TFC, especially with the M*A*S*H unit backline, currently playing without a bonafide CB.

Let's hopefully score another goal and not do the classic TFC try and close out the game by playing defense but give it away at the end.

Hassli played alright in the first half. Vancouver have been dominated by us though. They've only had chances off of set pieces. We are marking very aggressively, something we don't usually see.

That's true, he's pretty solid. I couldn't understand the early criticism of him since he hardly played and there was nothing to go on.

Martina is the one that mystifies me. He has an excellent first touch, which is so rare for MLS.. but doesn't seem to know where anyone is when he has the ball....

I think the overrated Soehn has been outcoached today. TFC have completely outplayed the Caps in the second half today. Faced with ample preparation time he has been unable to choose the tactics needed to expose this makeshift central defence.

Vancouver heads home empty handed this week. Good week for TFC. They needed this badly. Tack this on with the signings, and hopefully things turned around.

Yourassowsky, for all the sub-par play, needless yellow and red cards, came up big when it counted. Huge goal.

TFC was heck of a lot better than Vancouver...really took it to them especially after Santos subbed out. I was uncertain how TFC would respond w/out a true striker...this was a huge response.

So happy for Plata. Came up HUGE today. Especially the way Leathers was defending him both legs of the final.

Not only level the match but that would have won it for Vancouver based on away goals. He rushed it unnecessarily...he had enough time to settle it. TFC defence dodged a bullet on that one. But am I glad that went wide.

Good game by the reds, one of the best they've played. Plata and Yourassowsky were on fire today.

Great job by Plata and JDG. Also having Martina in the middle after Maicon went off opened up a lot of space. Way to go Redcoats!!!

I missed parts of the game, but looking at the highlights, TFC could have had a couple more goals if lady luck was on their side.

Martina had 2 chances denied
(by Boxall and Demerit/an incompetent linesman well out of position)

Soolsma a minute into the second half

Vancouver felt way too comfortable with a 1-0 lead and didn't press a whole lot, although they did have a couple of chances near the end. Soehn's going to be pissed considering he rested the bulk of today's starters strictly to win today.

Freeze frame showed to me that the ball was clearly in. Wish I knew how to insert the frame of this.
