just a quibble, but bougherra, belhadj and ziani were all born in france.

i've seen their every match since the slap on the face against serbia, and individually they've always been impressive. by ireland they were very close to finding each other; the score was the same (3-0) but no longer seemed to follow an inescapable logic. the learning curve continued in SA. the USA* have to hope england was a one-off not a stepping-stone or it will be a very cruel 90 minutes.

de bleekere is flemish and almost certainly speaks better english than french.

*i would have liked to say we since i'm american and will be cheering them on but jumping bandwagons is not my style.

I was just thinking the same exact thing.

By the way.....is there any other way to watch the US-Algeria match online other than ESPN3.com?? My office does not have cable & our isp does not carry ESPN3.com. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hasn't he played better LATER in the matches? That being the case, I would expect it is not fitness.

Thanks, Gorky. One more question...do I have to sign up or register for anything or can I just click on a link from their site when it kicks off?

My guess is that it's a combination of that and the match-up. Algeria is more of a small and quick attacking team - there didn't seem to be a physical presence up front.

Here we go, lets see if for once we can soundly beat a team we are supposed to soundly beat. I'm tired of us always playing to the level of the competition.
