nah Flavio is still better than those guys

at his age he can still be called the best foward in Peru...which is pretty pathetic for our league

    I don't think he's better than Malingas.

I dont think he could score the same amount of goals Malingas has in Argentina. Maybe in his prime, but def. not now.

    in his prime?

    definetly

    much better than Malingas

now, prob not...hard to tell really since Malingas sits way to much these days

Yet he went to Chile. :D

Still his goalscoring per minute is impressive.

He always peforms when given the chance.

I dont think Flavio would be capable of that.

    So yea Malingas >>> Flavio

Chile wasnt his best days...when he was at SC during the tri days where his best days

then he got injured badly twice i believe and that was pretty much it, he got more expirienced obviously but not much better as a football player

Flavio peforms well at Libertadores level, that to me says he can still hang with some of the younger lot that are coming up

Roberto Silva started pretty well in Argentina, then he got benched and was back in Peru

we could easily see Malingas back in Peru at the rate his coach keeps using him

    which is a shame

How long did Silva last in Argentina?

Please do not compare Malingas with that scrub.

He is a quality bench player (all SL fans like him)...didn't he have offers from mid-table Argie clubs before this season? He could easily leave to another Argie team if he wanted to but he still has a contract with SL...so it's highly unlikely.

And having watched all of Alianza's Libertadores games this year (all 6 losses) I conclude that Flavio (along with 90% of the team) is only good for the torneo local. Sucks but it's the truth.

one apertura or clausura he lasted, he like Galliquio started well but faded

all i know is that Flavio gets quite a bit of praise from forein reporters when he plays Libertadores, maybe not in this 2007 edition but he has in the past

I wouldnt take him back to la sele, because he i to old and theres younger options out there, but i still reckon he can claim to be the best foward in Peru when fit

Malingas is doing ok, but lets face it, he is doing way better than what anyone expected

did he ever lead the goalscoring in Peru while he was there?

like say Aguirre, Vigil and Rengifo have done?

I think everyone needs to put a "chesu" in their lists next to Juanca Bazalar. :p

He actually did decent in the last friendlies. He is def. the best DM we have...sad but true.

    I like it.

    Nice call on Chemito.

But if I was coach I'd take out Bazalar, regardless of how well he played in the friendlies. The freakin' guy is 38 and will retire very soon.

Yes, he's probably the best DM we have but we don't gain THAT much by playing him and benching the 2nd, 3rd and 4th best DMs (Torres, Nieri, Cevasco, Tonito Gonzalez) who could all contribute to the 2010 WCQ.
