I watched the Sunderland match today instead of the Bradford -Arsenal cup tie. Sometimes one guesses wrong. :)

    Up the Bantams...

I was going to start this when I woke up from my nap with "we've taken penalty kicks" - OTT.

    Good nap, though.

    Also, in.

Bradford have now won their last 9 penalty shootouts!!!

And no, they weren't all against Arsenal!

We all know that losing on pens to a League Two side isn't actually a defeat. And I am sure that Bradford were a formidable opponent.

I took a peak over at the Arsenal board...oh dear.

Remember when the Bantams beat us on the last day of the season to avoid relegation back in 2000? Did that loss keep us out of Champion's League the next year?

I watched the Betis Barca match. Had to see a bit of history made. Barca didn't have it their own way though, lottsa woodwork getting thumped on.

Just came across a silly fact: if games were to end in the 80th minute, Tottenham would be 1st, 3 points ahead of ManUre.

There's something that leads me to not trust the apparent quality of that team. I can't get my head around it, but I feel like they would literally be fighting for positioning with the likes of Villa and Sunderland without Bale in the lineup, and that isn't everything either. There's something else missing, and Sigurdsson, Dempsey, and Dembele haven't at all made up for Modric. I don't like their defense all that much either, aside from JV and Walker, and it seems like all of their rotation/depth players want moves to mid-table sides where they would start every time the transfer window roles around. I donno, to me Spurs right now just seem like the most fragile "top" teams in Europe.

I felt the same way last year too, and when there were people who legitimately believed they were title contenders, I just never bought into it, and I was right not to. I can honestly say I expected that moderate collapse and though they were unfortunate to not be in the CL due to the champion's rule, I don't feel like they were one of the top 4 clubs in the country anyway (I thought Newcastle and Chelsea were better, and had Chelsea been out of the CL they would have made up for it with a stronger league finish).

It'll be interesting this year though as right now, for me anyway, Spurs are gonna finish 6th, one ahead of us (barely) and behind 1st place City (yep), 2nd place Yanited, 3rd place Arsenal (Wenger ALWAYS turns things around), 4th place Chelsea and 5th place Everton.

I hope they fire Wenger solely for the fact that Arsenal would go on a huge decline without him. I'd take Wenger over Mourinho or Pep any day.
