How about the the Flash and Boca combine and call them San Diego United? (I'm not being serious, btw lol)
On paper it's a great idea (and would produce a very strong organization). Sadly hell will freeze over before Clent and Yan ever work together again.
I don't think MLS will have more than one team named "United." I know it works in England, but by the American tradition of team names it would seem a little weird to have two teams in the same league having the same name. I mean, there's still too many commentators who say "the Toronto FC" as if "FC" is to Toronto as "Lakers" is to Los Angeles. "The DC United versus the Sporting, coming up next!" It's like fingernails on chalkboard. The point is the average American sports fan or commentator isn't gonna follow the English/European convention when it comes to team names. Most don't know that Manchester United is only one of 100 teams in England with "United" in its name, and if you were to tell them, they'd find it as weird as having 5 teams called "Yankees" in MLB. And another thing.. stop saying "FC" all the time. Every American commentator does it. It's not necessary to say "FC Dallas" and "Toronto FC" and even the occasional "Sounders FC." Do you ever hear anyone saying "the winner tonight between Liverpool FC and Chelsea FC will face Arsenal FC in the semifinal." "FC" is not the name of a team, it's simply telling you what type of team it is. I'm finished.
Didn't one of them essentially crew the other one over or something like that? I vaguely remember some weird drama between the two of them. I was only joking....
I know. But it reminded me of people that hope MLS has a Twin Cities United some day. And then my hate for commentators started to show a bit.
Ah since we're talking about hating commentators...why the hell do they keep letting Rob Stone announce games? I'd much rather have Max Bretos in the booth than him while Adrian Healey is gone.
The Roman; Biggiss didacus, was very good friend of Pontius Pilate, but I like the film definition so: WVFC.
Wondering what you would have as the socks and shorts? Also, Armada is a really good name. I have always been about the San Diego socker tradition, hence and advocate for 'Sockers' or atleast keeping the blue and gold as a connection to the past in order to sorta claim it. I think that portland has done a great job of that with their uniforms. Keeping the traditional green, but then also incorporating the 'Rose City Red'. So for SD, it would be great to have our primary be Blue and Gold, ala the Sockers .....and have our secondary be Red and Gold, ala SD city flag.... or the flip.------> but regardless, Aramada sounds better than Sockers-
Essentially yes ..... but of course not so crappy looking... we could do better. Even throughout the indoor years they've had better ones than that ..... What Black?
I dont have any new full body templates for soccer apparel but i would want the shorts: royal blue single yellow stripe on the side. yellow trim socks to be royal blue and yellow trim
