    SAN DIEGO DESTROYERS!!!
We give credit to the Navy and there is a lot of power in the name. Easy logo design and no competing team name.

For a potential MLS team in San Diego. We're just idly speculating. Join the fun.

That is american football. Lots of sports use the same name. We should logo a destroyer ship with its big guns.

It sucks that MLS is a closed system. Otherwise one of our semi-pro teams would actually have a shot of getting promoted to MLS. Instead we are on a soccer forum thinking of fake names for team that will never exist. F-GARBAGE GARBER!

    My votes,

    Mission San Diego Soccer Club
    Club San Diego
    Mission City
    Navy Boys SC

I disagree on the closed system, but I do like the Club San Diego name.

I think that's pretty decent, though a destroyer probably wouldn't have that many guns on it -- more like a battleship.
I would like the Sockers name, or just something generic like San Diego A.F.C.

    San Diego Sun?

    San Diego City?

    San Diego FC?

    AC San Diego? (Athletic Club)

A simple name would be good in my opinion......if not FC maybe SC?

    San Diego SC (Soccer Club)?

Well, we could incorporate a year into the name. 2014 (or whatever) for the founding year of the club, 1542 for the "discovery" by Cabrillo, 1769 for the founding of San Diego.
    FC San Diego 2014
    San Diego 1542 SC
AFC San Diego 1769 (Frisco has the 49ers -- not sure the same kind of thing would work here).

i never understood the appeal for putting years in our name. the only teams i see doing that primarily are germans and italians to some extent.

Am I the only one who likes Nomads?

No matter the name, I think you should go half red/half yellow jerseys like Galatasaray.
