We proudly announce the birth of our daughter Elena Joie October 25, 2006, 11:15am weighing seven pounds, 5 ounces and measuring twenty inches That can't be right.
I was looking at the Babies R Us registry and it says... Expected Arrival Date: 10/25/2006 So this is creepy when you read this from their own website: We chose to give birth at our local birthing center, attended by midwives and laboring in a home-like atmosphere. The birth was everything we hoped for: safe and natural, calm and harmonious. I noticed the first contractions around 8pm on Wednesday night, but they were not coming very close together, so we went to bed. I woke up a few times in the night aware of the contractions, but still able to comfortably sleep. Around 6am, with the contractions coming every five minutes or so, we called the midwife and she told us to come on in. When we arrived around 7am, the midwife found me already five centimeters dilated. I was feeling very calm and comfortable, using the relaxation techniques for natural childbirth that I had been practicing for months. We decided laughing would be a good way to pass the time, so we watched our DVD of The Office, season 1. By around 9am I was 8 centimeters dilated, and with the contractions getting stronger, I decided to get into the birthing tub to let the warm water help me relax. By around 10:30 I was feeling ready to push, so the midwife checked me and found me fully dilated. As we had planned, I took my time using very gentle pushes to move Elena slowly into this world. Elena was born in the birthing tub at 11:15 in the morning, and immediately placed on my chest to breastfeed (she's been a great eater from the very beginning!). We feel so blessed to have had the birth that we planned, and most importantly, for our beautiful, healthy baby girl.

Darn. The site is password protected again. I sent them a gift they had registered for online. I hope they got it and actually knew who it was from. I had a dream with Juan and Lindsay last night. It was weird. They were visiting me and I invited them to live with me in my childhood home. I have not lived there in decades. They obviously were just visiting, but I never asked them when they planned to leave. I didn't see a baby and decided not to ask. I really hope all is well for them. WR fun aside, I think Juan is pretty cool. Oh well, so is the life of a stalker. I really need my own life.
