The Gago bid was accepted, except City officials had to contact our rich owner but couldn't get ahold of him. We ran out of time as the window was shut. The dea would have cost us 20 million pounds.

Honestly, I'd rather see what's available during the summer. We're going after Ribery for 80 million pounds.

    wow - that's daylight ribery...

    sorry - I just had to.... :p

Ribery sounds good but a bit of a disappointing window for City in terms of media hype - no Kakas or anything - it was more about players going out than in - well a certain player that is. Hopefully in the summer we'll see more action in the transfer market.

We got Adam Johnson, a potential England midfielder. Gago would have been nice, but at 20 million pounds, I am not sure. Mariga didn't go through because of work permit. I am not sure how good he is and it would have cost us 7 million pounds I think. I am not sure our club would dramatically be improved from Gago and Mariga. With the 27 million pounds saved, I wait until the summer.

Higuian would be the perfect forward for us i think. Hardworking, skillfull, fan's love him, and he can carry a team on it's own. I won't dream just yet though ..

Big rumours going around that Jerome Boateng (Hamburg defender) has, or will sign with the club.

Has confirmed he will be leaving Hamburg at hte end of the year, and we have been interested in him for a long time. Can play anywhere along the defense, young, hardworking and skillfull. Very excited if true.

We have a hamburg pipeline set-up. First Kompany, then DeJong, and now perhaps Boateng.

Not bad. I mean thats where the beatles honed their craft!

According to the serious newspaper 'Hamburger Abendblatt,' Boateng's move to Manchester is already a done deal, though not yet officially confirmed. Looks like the transfer fee is 11 million quid.

Our pre-end of season transfer policy looks healthy. Young, hungry, talented internationals who aren't so bothered about Champions League football yet and who would be willing to fight for the club, like Boateng's fellow Hamburg players, Kompany and De Jong, have. Boateng will be a good signing and I'd expect others like that, along with possibly one or two "marquee" signings. I hope we press forward with our reported interest in Hamsik from Napoli or Ozil from Werder Bremen.

This is absolutely stupid. We have Given and Hart in the net. There's absolutely no need for Buffon. City officials have stated that Joe Hart is not for sale. Also, Given has stated that he's is comfortable sharing playing time with Joe Hart. We are going to be playing in Europe next year, whether Champion's League or Europa, there's going to be more games. Therefore, I can understand two quality goalkeepers but for sure not three.

Unless of course, we sell Given. However, that would be a tragedy.

I like given, but i'd prefer Buffon. If we were able to sell given, but had to pay just a bit more for buffon,i'd say sell.but definitely want to keep Hart...because he's young, and only improving ;)

The only way to justify this move is that Mansour wants another icon on the team. So far, we only have Tevez. This is nothing more than making a splash in the soccer media and make a point. In terms of football, I don't see Buffon being that much better than Given or Hart. It won't translate to more wins, it's just vanity.

Another thing I like about Given was that he was sincere about playing for City, whereas Buffon is forced to leave because Juve needs money. Plus, not many Italians have succeeded in the EPL.

This Mancini guy will RUIN your team if he gets control of your transfers

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini is set to sell Emmanuel Adebayor, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Wayne Bridge and Stephen Ireland this summer.
The Italian is looking to get full control of all of City’s transfer and could begin the summer transfer season by making a £50million bid for Liverpool striker Fernando Torres.
City is a point behind Tottenham Hotspur for the Premier League’s fourth and final Champions League spot, and Mancini is looking to improve his squad in order to make a run at the Premier League title next season, according to The Sun.
Adebayor, who has scored 13 goals in 28 appearances this season, came to City from Arsenal for £25m last summer.
Wright-Phillips came back to City in the summer of 2008 from Chelsea and has only started six games this season as he and Mancini have not seen eye to eye.
A former Chelsea defender, Bridge moved to City in January of 2009 and has had a tough season with injuries and off the field troubles.
Ireland has been with City for his entire professional career.
City have a crucial game against Aston Villa on Saturday with both teams still in contention for the last Champions League spot.

    I wouldn't trust Goal.com as a viable source.
They have as much idea as we do IMO.

Adebayor has had one of the most interupted season's i've seen in a long time, Bridge has been injured. SWP and Ireland seemingly can't get fit. I can see Bridge leaving, and perhaps Sweep if he wants a continual first team role. Adebayor and Ireland though, never.

Even in that rumor, aside from Adebayor, go ahead and get rid of the rest of them.

SWP is out of his prime. Get rid of him now while he's still worth something. Besides, he's not too happy about losing his place to Adam Johnson anyways. I don't want his negative energy in the locker room and with the media.

As for Ireland, I have no clue why he lost it. He was so promising last season. I don't think losing him will make or break the team.

As for Bridge, I don't mind replacing him with a top class defender. Just don't bring another Lescott.

I like Adebayor. If he wasn't suspended so much, he'd probably be close to 20 goals by now. With 3 matches remaining, he'll probably end up with 15 league goals with 25 league appearances, and that's not bad at all. However, if he's replaced with Fernando Torres, then I don't see why not.

Guys, we're going to play in Europe next year. Hopefully the Champion's League. Therefore, we need a bigger squad. I think saying Mancini will ruin our team is too far of a stretch. I do think that he should keep these players for depth. If we end up in Europa, I bet the target will be to win the whole damn thing. Also, if we play the same number of cup games as this season, we're looking at about 55 games. We really don't want our players to run out of gas by December, so having a big squad is important.

I am excited about the transfer window coming up. Look for some big names coming.

The thing about the CL and even Europa league, if I'm not mistaken... aren't u supposed to have a minimum number of home grown and country-grown players... therefore guys like Ireland + SWP could come in handy for games such as those... don't know if they would want to stay if that was the case though - cameo roles basically... Adebayor is good but he seems like a real head-case. Torres on the otherhand is the model professional if there's anything to those rumors you should take that in a heart beat...

Actually how did we sign AJ... it surely cannot be mancini who scouted him and signed him can it? It was during a pretty hectic period and he just joined a few weeks back, someone else must have pushed for him since he was English and fairly cheap (compared to the others)

btw I can see him selling ireland out because superman just doesnt fit in his formation at the moment, swap bait for Torres?
