LA Classics would be...classy. Cue the retirement league jokes. It could also work for other places. If not the Cosmos, then I suggest Club New York.

wondering if ya'll saw this http://www.rednationonline.ca/Articles2012/MLSAnnouncesLeagues20thFranchise.aspx Kentucky FC, KY20, the new franchise. KFC. i hate April Fools Day
Wishing's fine. The world is full of wishes. Acting as if it's a fait accompli just because someone wants it to happen is not fine.
https://twitter.com/FC_Tucson/status/322418578034941952 It also helps that Pima County just submitted plans to renovate Kino Stadium and turn it into a permanent soccer stadium (seating for 17k).
Larger than Tulsa. Larger than Honolulu. Larger than Fresno. Sorry, those were just the next three on the list. And that's the actual order of MSAs 50-56 in the USA right there. Think of it this way: Tucson is Columbus, divided by two. My bet as to what's going on is if this happens Tucson will be making a push to be THE place to go for MLS Spring Training, and maybe help elevate FC Tucson to a USL Pro or NASL level. 17k is a bit much, but the stadium already seats a fair number, and they'd have to add more seats on one side of the field, in theory. While a new stadium it's not designed in a Steinbrenner-esque way, which has very narrow foul ground, so a conversion shouldn't be too difficult. I imagine they also believe they would be able to bring in Mexican teams to play there, and maybe minor USMNT matches? Tucson already has Hi Corbett for baseball, and I'd imagine the Toros could come back and play there, but with Arizona doing so well on that front perhaps the college will fill the baseball void. That being said, a 17k stadium isn't going to make FC Tucson profitable - but it's certainly another step in the development of soccer-related physical infrastructure in the USA. EDIT: Read the article. I'll believe the Kino renovation when I see it.
Apologies about the Kino sentence. Should be in red. Don't know why it stayed in black. 99% chance that the announcement will be "FC Tucson moving up to USL-Pro." May be a league wide announcement regarding other west coast teams that will be joining in 2014 (Seattle & Portland affilitates?) It wouldn't be surprising if the Camp Cupcake USMNT will be played in Tucson in January 2014, but that won't be announced till October/November. & Hi-Corbett will be the home of U of A baseball for the next 9 years.
I know Lane United FC is going to try and be a go in USL, Eugene being in Lane County, though not sure it will be filial with the Timbers.
Going forward I think Tucson & Orlando are moving towards being THE preseason tournys. As far as Tucson turning that momentum into a chance at MLS, I don't think so (IMO)

Why does this topic give so many people big blue veiners? Why are people more intrigued by the fantasy of a team in Ottawa or Phoenix or San Diego than they are by THE ACTUAL TEAMS THAT ALREADY EXIST?
