Does anyone know of a Porto website that has historical game data? I dont see this info on Porto.pt. I know of the following for the other clubs & NT: Benfica - www.serbenfiquista.com, although it only has data from 1987/88 season thru 2006/07. Anyone know of any others? Sporting - http://sportingcp.home.sapo.pt (thanks Forca Sporting). Portugal NT - www.fpf.pt
historical game data for Porto is surely a tedious task to gather, i.e. too many Wins, too many goals for scored and too many titles (more than any Club in Portugal when you combine League titles, Cup wins, SuperCup and all our International accomplishments)...
Well its taks just as much time for the other teams to record all the losses!! But your wrong when it comes to most titles by a Portuguese team: Porto has 55 domestic titles & 6 international for a total of 61. Benfica has 62 domestic titles & 3 international for a total of 65. But Porto do have most variance in titles, meaning they have won every active title that is played for today.
where are you getting your info??? domestically, did you add League, Cup and SuperCups? BTW, I am also adding all domestic Junior National Titles at all levels... From what I remember Porto had a decent lead as of last year
Yes I added all league, cups & supercups. Porto: 23 Leagues 17 Cups 15 Supercups 2 Champs Leagues 2 Intercontinental Cups 1 Uefa Cup 1 Supercup Benfica: 31 Leagues 27 Cups 4 Supercups 2 Champs Leagues 1 Latin Cup I dont count youth teams.
And the Portuguese supercup was only founded in 1978, around the time when Porto started its era of dominance. Had the supercup started the same time as the Portuguese cup & league the difference in titles would be much more. Plus Porto hasnt had a Hungarian Curse hanging over their heads!!!
the same way Benfica's lone Latin Cup has been extinct for years and only a very limited amount of teams played for it...
Yes a limited amount of teams played for it, but those teams where the champions from their country (Portugal, Spain, Italy & France). If Porto had been the champion that year they would have been in the tournament instead of Benfica. You can say that the Taca Latina was a precursor to the European Cup. The TL started in 1949 and ran thru 1957, the EC started in 55/56 and was a bigger version of the TL. But take away the Latin Cup & Benfica is still in the lead.
