Holy crap. Simao is on fire at Atletico. After hitting the post and scoring the tying goal against Liverpool during the CL's this week, he ended scoring 2 and setting up 2 goals today in the 4-4 goal fest at Villareal. All of them beauties too. He's scoring with thundering right-footed shots, left-foot, left-foot crosses, right footed crosses, solos bursts of speed. The last free-kick cross for the 4-4 tie was text book.

Of course, our freaking luck that he was injured when we could have used his form a few weeks ago...

Lets not forget maniche, deco and carvalho performing well the past weeks.

deco is still injured yet playing well all things considered.

if we had those 4 we would have won our last two qualifiers.

And not mention that's 5 good matches in a row for Manelele, Miguel played pretty poorly though.

    Crap.

Carvalho, decides to give a little lesson on playing wing, hits a perfect give&go in stride then side foots a gorgeous cross for Chelsea's tap-in 3rd goal and then... pulls up with a hamstring injury right at the end. This is not good - wasn't the hamstring what he hurt before?

Still, can't think the last time I saw a CB pull a play like that. Every time I look at the Golden Boot award nominations it astonishes me he's not in it. Between defensive skill, tactical positioning and ball-handling, there's hardly a better CB in the world.

Manuel Fernandes scored a low blast for the opening goal in Valencia's 3 - 0 win over Getafe. He was also rewarded with Man of The Match.

P.S: Koeman must be considered to be a dumbass

Fernandes wasn't even particularily that good Valencia played a trinco in Abelda and 2 box to boxes (Baraja's old and hardly a box to box) but Baraja was receiving the ball in areas that Fernandes likes to get the ball, Fernandes was playing a bit further up the pitch but never looked comfortable up there always receiving balls with his back to goal. Miguel had a fine game, he's really flying of late.
