Any way those dynamic ad bars that play stupid jingle and then pop up blocking the entire screen if you make the mistake of moving your mouse over them can be shut off. They're damned annoying and have really destroyed the enjoyability of using the site.Every time I want to go up to the top of the page to go to watched threads or another forum you invariably scroll across them accidentally and activate them.

Is anyone else having issues with ads that can be expanded like the Marine ads showing up over the alert list?

This has been going on in one form or another for years. I've given up reporting it.

Although it was doing it for me on Twitter yesterday. Not an ad, but a menu expansion going underneath another frame on the screen.

    Thx,

    Jay!

That particular ad is the only one where I see that issue and only when using IE.

    Huss:

I'll stop using adblock on BS if you get rid of all ads that:

    - play any type of sound or any type of video
    - expand, under any circumstances, out of their normal frame

And promise that they will never return.

There was a good discussion about this on another site I use recently. The proprietor there agreed that getting all of us who use ad-block back to seeing ads would be worth the trouble of getting rid of the obnoxious ads that chased us to blockers in the first place. He did, so we all disabled ad-block on that site.
    sitruc repped this.

I hate seeing political ads here. The only thing I hate more than seeing them is hearing them because of a hover over. This shit needs to stop.

This is the least annoying of the political ads...

Lucky you. I've missed out on the localized political ads. I want casinos in schools and table games at massage parlors.
