OK I have no idea about the traffic for the Villa game in this forum. Its not a high profile game but it is the first game this season in the EPL, and will air on Sky and FSW. Their may also be a similer thread on the EPL and Aston Villa boards.

So to start with, this thread will be the pre game, pbp, and post game thread for the game. If demand is great I will split the thread.

    Play up Pompey!

Does anyone know of any live audio feeds of the match on the web? I checked the BBC but they are restricted on what they can webcast and won't have the live audio. What a day for the cable to crap out on me. Oh well - looks like I'll be following the match via TEXT COMMENTARY ugh ::shudders::...

So far so good, goals by Teddy and Berger. Pompey up 2-0 with about 20 min left to play. :)

Sorry, the only place I know of is the official web site and you have to pay like 40 pounds for the season.

Seems to me that the old-timers are doing pretty well. I knew that Teddy would do well. But Berger as well? Not bad.

    2-1 Villa had a penalty.

You're not supposed to listen to the game online. It's listed as unavailable but you can listen to it.

Zivkovic gives up a penilty and Villa scores. Its 2-1.

But as I type this Villa's goal scorer and captain Barry is Sent Off :)

2-1, an excellent result for Pompey. Sheringham was a bit lucky for the first goal, but hey, every goal counts. Well done to Pompey on their return to the top flight!

Congrats to Pompey. I hope Two Bob Terry Brown and all the other gits running West Ham into the ground took notice.

    Way to go, 'Arry!

A bit late but I just got a chance to post - Pompey wins! I am pleasantly surprised and starting off the season with 3 points is so important. Too early to start saying "well maybe the loss of Todorov wasn't all that bad" but it is encouraging to say the least.

It was a totally laughable penalty, given because Gareth Barry stubbed his toe!! And there was me thinking the quality of referees would improve in the premiership!

    Yeah the penalty was ridiculous.

I really enjoyed watching Portsmouth. They have that nice little intimate stadium, and their fans were really into it. Sheringham and Berger among a few others looked really good out there. I was happy for Portsmouth. Good luck the rest of the season guys! :)
