Well here's todays news, Argyle started todays game with a number of changes, probably Argyle's best player so far this season Bhasera, did not dress as he is injured joining a list of Griffiths,Wotton, Lowryand a few others, also news that Gorman on loan from Wolves was sent back to Wolves. On too todays game, the lineup was Cole, Berry, Purse, Blanchard, Williams, MacDonald, Hourihane, Jenkins, Gurrieri, Feeney, Madjo. Subs: Chenoweth, Nelson, Richards, Young, Lennox, PCH, Lecointe. Argyle playing unusually a 4-4-2 formation, 3 mins into the game and Purse loses control of the ball Morecombe player nicks it and we're 1-0 down. 15 mins and Feeney booked, 43 mins Purse booked, HT Argyle down 1-0. 2nd half 50 min Berry trips player in penalty area and is booked and penalty awarded Argyle down 2-0. 61st min Paris Cowen-Hall replaces Andre Guereri, 71st min new loanie Ross Jenkins lets loose from 25 yards Morecombe 2 Argyle 1, 80th min Argyle awarded a penalty after a handball, Feeney scores 2-2. 81st min Jenkins booked, 86th min Argyle awarded a second penalty for a trip on PCH, Feeney takes it Morecombe 2 Argyle 3, 90 mins are up but ref says 6 mins of extra time................................... Argyle win 3-2, up to 16th in the league
"2 nil and you ********ed it up.... 2 nil and you ********ed it up...." 3 lucky points.... we will take it!!!!
Well i had a nice piece all written up about last game but hit the delete button by mistake. Anyway Argyle 1 Southend 1, MacDonald Argyle's scorer. Loanees MacDonald and Madjo end their loans after saturdays game, MacDonald has already said he would like the loan made permanent, this cant happen at the moment but it is expected that the loan will be extended until January and then a possible transfer could be made, Madjo has impressed the fans, and most would like to see the loan extended. The 3rd loanee Jenkins impressive in his first game missed the Southend game with a groin problem but is expected back for tonight's game at Wycombe. Argyle's next 3 games are all against teams who are below them, so 3 wins would rally move Argyle up the league, currently 16th.
Wycombe 1 Argyle 1, Argyle scorer Madjo. Amazing finish to this game, Cole made a world class save to deny Wycombe the winner, ball went upfield and Hourihane hit a 40 yard shot that bounced off the crossbar and down on to the line but no one to follow up to tap in, Argyle down to 18th
Argyle 1 Wimbledon 2 Argyle were really poor today from what i can gather i missed most of the game as i was at a wedding, Dues to injuries Argyle had to make 4 changes for todays game. Argyle went behind after 12 mins and this held up until the 89th min, when Argyle were awarded a dubious penalty, anyway Griffiths took the penalty and it was a poor one and the goalie saved it but the ball bounced back to Griffiths and he scored. So everyone thought well a 1-1 draw is better than nothing but Wimbledon came down the field and after a wicked deflection the ball lobbed over Cole and settled in back of the net. So Argyle are down to 19th and the fans are not happy.
Argyle 2 Aldershot 1 in Johnston Paint Trophy Scoring for Argyle Cowen-Hall after 33 seconds and Gurreri.
MacDonald and Madjo have had their loans extended for another 2 months, Jenkins who is on loan from Watford has gone back to have a groin injury looked at, he has played 2 games and looked good but has missed the last 2 games.
Hold on to your hat Barnet 1 Argyle 4 R. Griffiths pen 2 mins, Blanchard 11 mins, Cowen-Hall 62 mins, Young 90+2 mins Plymouth now 18th 5 points out of the playoff group and 6 points out of relegation group
Jeez... i forgot they had a game today.... amazing... 5 points out of a play off spot and 6 points away from relegation.... very tight table that says to me...
Well Argyle got off to another great start, another early penalty from Madjo this time and a 2nd after 7 mins from Guereri, 2-0 at HT, Rochdale got one back, to make it 2-1 and then Argyle got another penalty in last minute to win 3-1, also Rochdale were awarded a penalty when it was 2-0 but Cole saved. up to 15th now, we were up to 11th early on in the game but as the game carried on we dropped to 15th but we are only 2 points out of playoff position, next game tuesday away to Cheltenham. 3 wins in a row now gotts keep it going.
great game for us.... what a difference it makes when u score early.... 3 wins in a row has to make them feel pretty good... and like u said.. only 2 points out of a playoff position, and we are still in 15th... very tight table...
Cheltenham 2 Argyle 1, Hourihane gave Argyle a 1-0 lead but 2 set pieces gave Cheltenham their lead. To show you how close the league is, when Argyle scored their goal they jumped to 8th in the league, if they had managed to win they would have been in 6th place. They remain in 15th place.
ugh... so close... if we can put a few wins together.. we are right there in the mix.. does the new owner have the money to get us to D1?
Mr Brent is a rich man, he was a investment banker, and when he left there he set up a company called the Akkeron Group in 2008, in 2009 he set up another company called Akkeron Hotels which bought out another company with 8 hotels, since then they now own 35 hotels and intend to have at least 150. The Akkeron group is mostly into land development and it was this company that bought Argyle, Mr Brent is a very astute businessman and when he bought Argyle he sold the land that Home Park is located on back to the City of Plymouth, with the money he made on that is what Argyle operate on. Akkeron Group is going to demolish and rebuild the grandstand and add anumber of other facilities like changing rooms restaurants and bars, also a 1500 seat arena will be built, this will house a ice rink and will be the home of the Plymouth Raiders one of the top basketball teams in the Uk, they currently play at the Plymouth Pavilions which is a entertainment complex in the heart of the city, Mr Brent has recently paid 83 million pounds to purchase this facility http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-devon-18476695 and http://www.thisisplymouth.co.uk/Jam...vilions-deal/story-16385833-detail/story.html andhttp://www.thisisplymouth.co.uk/Argyle-lead-Pavilions-handed/story-17018302-detail/story.html . In other Argyle news Argyle have been drawn away to Dorchester Town in the FA Cup 1st round, this game was scheduled for Nov 3, but it has been recheduled to the next day as it will be shown live on ESPN, i shoould be able to watch it on a stream. Both teams will be payed around 65,000 pounds for the broadcast and the winning team also get 18,000 pounds Last night Argyle U18 beat Exeter U18 3-0 in the FA Youth cup 1st round, a player to watch for the future is Tyler Harvey who scored 2 of the goals, he is only 17 and has already agreed to sign a professional contract next year when he turns 18, http://www.thisisplymouth.co.uk/Har...-Cup-victory/story-17174793-detail/story.html Harvey has already scored 10 goals this season in U18 games.
Rotherham 1 Argyle 0, probaly could have been 3/4-0, Cole made some great saves in 1st half, unfortunately Argyle had to make several changes again, Purse injured, Hourihane suspended, Cowen-Hall injured. Lowry who has been injured since pre-season did make his starting debut, but was obviously not match fit.
Evan you are correct. JJ next game is the FA Cup this sunday which is being shown live on ESPN, game kicks off 4pm UK time. I dont believe it is being shown live here in Canada, cant find it on tv schedule so will be relying on a internet stream if i can find it.
Argyle are on Fox Soccer US at 2pm here in the states.... we need Ryan Seacrest saying "LIVE from Home Park... this is Plymouth Argyle"
you have got toe be effing kidding me....?!?!!?!? a 2nd yellow cause he took the free kick too soon? how soon did he take it??? my god.... why not just go talk to him and say WAIT? at 10 min in, that referee affected the outcome of that game... playing a man short for 80 min is tough!!! why do we even enter the FA Cup? we havent had a good run since Ollie and the game vs Watford at home. ugh... how long ago was that?
The truth is really he should have been sent off when he received his first yellow, he did a sliding tackle that ended with his boots going into not a good area, but from what i saw he also kicked out after that. Re the second yellow Argyle were awarded a free kick and the players were told by the ref to wait for his whistle while he marched the defenders back 10 yards, the Argyle players say they heard a whistle so the first Argyle player ran up to kick the ball but ran over it as a decoy, Hourihane then ran up and took the kick.
