    Nothing new.

Argyle 0 Preston 1, a early goal 4th minute was the only blemish in Argyle's last pre-season game, new boys Griffiths and Gorman started and impressed. Argyle have currently 27 players on their roster so obviously a bunch of the younger players will be sent out on loan before season starts.
Next game is against Portsmouth in the league cup next tuesday.

Season starts tomorrow (tuesday) Argyle v Portsmouth in the Capital One Cup, it will be very interesting what kind of lineup Portsmouth put out as they are in recevership and have no players, the last report was they have a goalie, a coach and a bunch of youth players, supposedly they have a number of players on trial but they cant sign any until they have new owners.
Argyle will probably still struggle as they are still trying to get organised, a number of injuries, will mean a understrength team as well.

Argyle 3 Portsmouth 0, well the score sounds like a convincing win but it was'nt. As expected Portsmouth showed up with a total of only 14 players, of which only 2 players had ever played league football before and one of those was the 34 year old coach, who had'nt played for a few years, the rest were youth players including a couple of 16 year olds.
Argyle immediately took to the attack but could'nt score at one stage the shots were 11-1, Argyle's first goal was a spectacular goal from long range by on loan player Johhny Gorman, most people think it was'nt a shot but was suppose to be a cross into the goal area.

Oh the 34 year old coach had to be replaced after only 34 mins due to injury.
In the second half most of the play was in Portsmouth's favour but they could'nt get the goal, in the end probably fitness took over and Argyle scored 2 goals within a minute of each other in the mid 80th minutes, through Paris Cowen-Hall and Chadwick.

The draw for the 2nd round will take place on wednesday, into this round will come Premier and Championship teams not involved in Euro competitions.

    Dagenham 0 Argyle 0

according to PASOTI in their man of the match poll currently goalie Cole has 94% of the votes, i think that says it all why Argyle earned a point tonight. So far 2 games played 0 goals scored.

    Burnley 2 Argyle 1

Burnley made 10 changes and Argyle 5 for this cup game, Argyle were without their 2 most experienced players Purse and Wotton both injured, so mostly a young team for Argyle. Argyle were down 1-0 at the half and that looked to be the final score until Argyle were awarded a penalty in the last minute which was scored by Williams, so game went into extra time and after another 30 mins was still tied at 1, went to penalty kicks, unfortunately Argyle missed 3 of their 5 and Bunley missed 2 of theirs, so Argyle are out.

Transfer deadline is this friday, and i am led to believe their will be some movement involving Argyle with some players leaving and maybe some coming in, but if they dont the loan period starts next week.

We need to get some experienced players not teenagers who have not played league football. Look for one in tomorrow (friday).
Argyle have announced that Ladji Soukouna can leave if he finds another club to take him. I expect some of the Argyle youngsters will go out on loan for a few months, no point having 27 players on the first team squad, Argyle do not play in any reserve league this year, the only other team that plays in a league is the U18's.

OK so Argyle got a new player in, one player released and one player sent out on a loan.

The new player in is actually a old player who has come back, Alex MacDonald is back on loan for a minimum of a month. Ladji Soukouna has been released and Argyle youth player Isaac Vassell has joined Bideford on loan.

    ARGYLE WIN 3-2:)

Argyle were down 1-0 at HT, Argyle started the 2nd half with Rhyss Griffiths coming on as a sub for his debut, and Argyle equalised early early through Feeney. Then Argyle took the lead when Griffiths scored his first professional goal to put Argyle ahead 2-1, unfortunately he soon went off injured and was replaced by defender Nelson, who has never scored in his career, he stangely lined up in a forward position, and amazingly scored Argyle's 3rd goal. Argyle gave up another goal in the last minute but hung on to win their first game of the season, and moved up to 15th in the league.

a win is a win is a win..... a big difference 3 points makes... if we can put a few more together, it will give us some breathing room... and hopefully be playing in the upper half of the table this year vs the bottom 1/4 last year.

Also Argyle have a new player Guy Madjo on loan from Aldershot he can score at the lower level but does'nt seem to stick with a club for very long. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guy_Madjo the loan is for a month.

    Argyle 1 Port Vale 3

So much for that undefeated streak, from what has been said, the first half was the best Argyle have played in 2 years and at HT led 1-0 from Williams, but in 2nd half Port Vale who scored 6 goals last saturday turned it up and scored 3 goals in 12 mins.

Next game tuesday at home against Bristol R.

Argyle 1 bristol Rovers 1, Argyle led 1-0 at HT on a 25 yard belter from Hourihane, but sat back in 2nd half and eventually Rovers scored to tie it up and probably should have ended up winning.

Next game away at Morecombe saturday and Argyle will have a new player Ross Jenkins a 21 year old midfieder on months loan from Watford, even though he is only 21 he has nearly a 100 games in the Championship with Watford, he has slipped down there lignups due to injuries and Watford bringing in a bunch of players.

So we will see what happens. Argyle are currently in 19th place and Morecombe are 17th.
