There are two sides to look at them (original preferable position, and actual position)
    ======== Prefer ===== Actual =======
    Nedved ........CAM................Winger left
    Ronaldinho .CAM................Winger or left FW
    Henry...........striker ...........striker/left FW

Nedved was a very unique player for me, and one of my favorites. The team sheet usually lined him up on the wing, and he often spent a lot of the game in positions an attacking midfielder takes up. But strangely the role he played was almost of a box to box midfielder. He was combative and played with lots of energy in the center of the pitch and would then drive forward to help attack. Sometimes he would take it upon himself to mark the other teams top midfielders (there is a famous example of this vs AC Milan in the 2003 Serie A where he marked Pirlo out of the game).

    Very well spot on. Agree

Nedved was a very complete midfielder in playing style. His "prefer" position would be playmaker or CAM behind the 2 FWs, but due to the fact that 4 4 2 formation became so dominant in 90-early 2000's, combined with the incidence that SerieA mostly employed 2 more DM in center - hence most CAM became "force winger" on eitehr left or right ... or best they would play as just behind 1 striker ...

Thats how Nedved ended up on the left. *just like Rivaldo, Ronaldinho and Zidane on the left in Liga 2000's

For Thierry Henry, always look at the open spaces. He was Arsenal's main striker but would invariably start from the left wing, able to use his electric pace against the quickest fullbacks - overlapping the fullback (penetrating the space behind) underlapping the fullback (penetrating the space between the fullback and centreback). His ball control at walking pace and dribbling pace was exceptional, able to slalom through a wall of bodies. Henry could drive from deep centrally, shoot at goal from outrageous angles and distances with his superb shooting technique. Even when going toe-to-toe with a man-marker, Henry could turn his marker in an instant and create a shot or pass out of nothing. Thus, defenders had the dilemna of whether to get close to him, or defend deep against him - either way, Thierry Henry was unplayable when in his prime in the Premier League.

Both a striker and a playmaker, Henry was undoubtedly a striker though. It is just his awareness and exploitation of space that saw him position on the wing or deep. The combination of his ball skills and lethal pace were best used starting from the left wing, cutting in. His telepathic play with Pirès and Bergkamp was key to his game too - they could read his runs and movement - meaning Henry could play across the final third, knowing that he would be found.

For Pavel Nedvěd, imagine him as a box-to-box midfielder but positioned on the left wing. One of the most complete footballers of the 90's/00's - Nedvěd would later become Juve's match-winner in Italy and Europe.

For Ronaldinho, forget about positions, Ronaldinho was an artist. Right-footed, so naturally inclined to play on the left, but you would not restrict him to one position, neither a winger or a #10, however the team's main creative attacker. His performances saw the re-emergence and importance of the inside forward in the modern game.

You drew Ronnie more on the right? Or is it looking North to South?

    great posts Mates :)

I was asking because I want to make list of best players in my lifetime and I don't know to which position put this players.

for example Dearman has Nedved as a AM, Ronaldinho as a Winger and Henry as a Forward
while web site Greatest Weebly has Nedved and Ronaldinho as a Wingers and Henry as a Striker
Galvisted take Ronaldinho as a Mediapunta as well as Rivaldo

so if You classify Nedved, Ronaldinho Henry and have to choose ONE position, which one You choose ?

and similar question about Seedorf ( CM or AM ), C.Ronaldo ( Forward or Winger ), Aguero and Owen
    ( SS or Striker ) ?

Nedved and Ronaldinho were similar as they both could play well in either CAM or Wing. It was the ERA tactics ( mostly 4 4 2 or 4 3 3) that utilized 2 DM in center, that PUSHED them playing on the wing. Their natural position is CAM (behind 1 or 2 strikers)

Henry was a FW who could be either as #11 or #9. But he often excelled better as #11 (FW on the left) - he was much less efficient as a "lone striker" or center FW (like for France 03-06)

Seedorf could play well as CM or AM. But for me he was better as AM (since that's what he liked to play higher)

    Thanks James ;)

Cristiano Ronaldo was a winger, now he is a forward, but....

For me he isn't a player a'la Figo, Giggs or Beckham ( wingers for me ) and he isn't player a'la Totti, Bergkamp, Rooney or Raul ( forwards who are creative played mainly in the centre of the field and aren't fast ).

He is a wing-forward for me

Since 1990 were any great wing forward/side forward except Cristiano, Henry and Stoitchkov ?
Bar smaller caliber players like Podolski, Robinho or Neymar ? Maybe V.Persie or L.Suarez ?
what do You think Guys ?

    you're so welcome mate

Rightly so ... both Messi and CR7 started out as a wide man FW and now all become deadly FW/striker

Beckham was more like a "side MF" rather then "true winger" a la Giggs, Figo, or Stanleys, Best , Garrincha, B.Conti, Overmars, Joaquin Sanchez ...

Side MF are like Beckham Donadoni Seedorf Iniesta Ze Roberto , Rivaldo ....

For me Messi is deep lying forward/second striker/false 9 ;)

what do You think about Cristiano and Henry are both wing forwards ?
"On paper" CR7 is a winger and TH is a striker/cf but in real life both played as a wing forwards and love to start in the left ;)

Do You have any idea about TOP 10 - 15 wing forwards/side forwards since 1990 ?
because I don't want to mix them with wingers ( midfielders ) and want to put them as a other position...

Cristiano, Henry, Stoitchkov and who else ? maybe V.Persie, L.Suarez, Robinho, Podolski, Hulk, Neymar, T.Mueller ?
