I think Lamela will be better than Di Maria and Lavezzi. He is really talented and I look forward seeing him in the U20's with Itrube.

On a side note, Piatti has signed with Valencia, you should be happy. But Valencia may lose Ever to Inter.

Ever would develop even more in his role in Italy as a deep playmaker.

Zabaleta came through with flying colours last night.

Let Lamela develop in his own good time. Throwing him into this mess might damage the kid. And besides Coco the clown has no time for traditional '10's because they do not fall into his pseudoBarcelona scheme.

Well good luck with that, especially with Perazzo (still dont know who the hell put this guy in charge, probably Humbertito...) at the helm.

I really really hope not. Then again he doesn't really get on with the manager from what I hear.

lol, sure it's an improvement but they need to get rid of Perazzo asap.

Also, i watched a couple of sub-17 games and it's funny to see the tournament being somewhat more enjoyable than a senior cup like the current Copa America. There's more football to put simply. It's fresher. Not surprisingly, when there's more football, Argentina isnt there....

Well the 86' process. The dates you put belong to Pekerman/Tocalli's era.

Not sure but pretty soon I suppose, only 10 teams confirmed their squads so far.

By the way there's a mexican U20 keeper that plays in Talleres.

Anybody know anything about this kid? I believe he is from Rosario, he said has met Leo a couple times. Any more info on him?

Haven't heard of him, but looks interesting(At that age...). What's the deal with Barcelona Juniors? I heard that Rosell visited it few weeks ago but it was in danger of being closed down.

He is the sole graduate of the Lujan project in southern BA ie a method for foreign clubs to try and nick Argentinian youth players on the cheap.

He is at La Masia now where they think quite highly of him.

Budgetary restraints mean this Lujan nonsense may soon shut down.

I thought Lujan was already gone and they were going to close down La Masia(The boarding and living).

There was a story while waiting with his teammates Messi came up to him asked if he was the prospect from Rosario. Leo told him, whenever he wanted he would take around town. When he had a minor operation done, Leo sent him a signed jersey of his.

I am not sure mate. La Masia either. Let's just hope he fulfils his potential. Icardi too if he can get his head together. Don't get too excited though. Icardi was overlooked for the u20 though he has now been purchased by Sampdoria.

Hopefully he can make a name for himself in serie B get promotion and work from there.

A small correction Luján is to the north west of Buenos Aires not the south and isn't part of the conurbano either.

Out of the current U-20 team playing in U-20 2011WC, the players that have looked best is German Pezzella, Erik Lamela and Juan Iturbe; Carlos Luque is worth given more time on the pitch. And, Pezzella looks the most promising.

I agree, Pezzella looks good, as does Tagliafico. Lamela was a big disappointment against England, Iturbe was much better - but I liked Lamela's corner kicks. Martinez (#14) should get more playing time.

I have one question: Martinez is full back or midfield? I have feelings watching his play, that he's natural full back. He's defending very clever and has very good runs forward...

He is a fullback by trade, but has been deployed as a winger for this team

If he continues progressing and will play as fullback in club, I hope we'll have the best player on this position we ever had during Zaneti's era...

And Tagliafico on the left, since that's the position we have the least depth of all.
