As I have said, I think Grêmio does not need him. It would only make sense, if another player were put in the mix. he did not come, I hope he enjoys and stays in MLS for years to come. If not just for the pleasure of seeing him being beaten by the DCU. :p

Roberto Firmino with an amazing season. He needs to change clubs. A name to look for in 2018.

Great shame as hes the best non-traitorous Brazil forward playing in Europe right now.

He'd probably be on the team if Hoffenheim hadn't blocked his youth team call up a few years ago.

We have to hope that Dortmund buys him to replace Lewandowski.

Well, one thing is probably for sure, he isn't a #9.

Yes, I wouldn´t replace Lewandowski with him,
he is versatile but he´s more of an attacking midfielder
    so rather Mkhitaryan or Reus
but it´s good for him to stay in Hoffenheim for a while more
so he gets playing time and stabilizes.

lol Firmino is already a mainstay at Hoffenheim and has been for almost 2 seasons now iirc. Time to make the big move.

Sure it would be good for Firmino to get experience in CL or EL which perhaps would require him to change team, but my main point is about stabilizing, he still is quite irregular and for that reason probably need to stay a bit longer.
In that aspect, and at this point, carrying a team might be a more valuable experience than being bench for a bigger team.
Let´s just see how he finishes this season first and then You might start talking about a move.

Has done well with Volland too in the games I've seen, and it's good when you get that type of partnership working.

This guy had a good confed cup. I wonder if he will make the team in the WC? Im glad he did not go to europe, sometimes going to europe makes a player lose his flair. I always think brazil are best when they have a few local players in their team. In europe the players are drilled in the basics and conservative (risk free) play like robots, that they lose that something special that can give them the edge. Does anybody agree? or will brazil only pick the european playing players because those players have proved themselves at the highest level( ie: EUROPE); according to most people ?

The only thing that would keep Fred off the team is injury. He's not a player abroad though so this is the wrong thread - there's plenty of talk about him in the South Africa friendly thread and selecao thread.

Who would replace him at this point? I don't think Felipao has called up any center-forward from Europe besides Diego Costa and that didn't work out.

There's never been any flair in Fred's game.

That's nothing compared to the top strikers in the world, he wouldnt even make a top 50 if you made a list to the best strikers just taking into consideration their flair or tricks if you want to call them that.

Strikers are not normally the players with a lot of "flair",
I can agree that Fred may not have the most,
    I don´t know about this "flair"-ranking
but he´s a smart player in the area and knows what his job is
and more important is his "ranking" as striker,
where he probably is among top10-20.
