I'd say the Champions league is tougher than the World Cup. Teams can buy players from EVERY country and take the best from those countries and put them all in one team or several teams. Where as countries are stuck with what they've got. It's fair to say all the best players in the world play in Europe (with the exception of some Brazilians). Therefore the CL is much more difficult as you're up against the greatest players in the game EVERY year. Heck even the Euro's is harder to win than the World Cup. Many European countries miss out on the WC because some poor asian, african, N.A. and S.A. countries need to be included. Yes Brazil and Argentina, and Ivory Coast, and Uruguay, and a few others are up to par with these nations; but speaking as a whole the Euro's is more difficult than the WC. The WC is outdated now with the increasing role of money in football. The CL is much more difficult than the WC. Yes you have a 1/4 chance of winning the CL as opposed to a WC but the playing demands are much higher. Also many player's are fatigued come WC time because they've been dominating for their respective teams. RANT OVER.
Think of it from a different perspective, you say that teams can buy players from all corners, so does that not make the World Cup more difficult to win? When as a team you are limited to selecting players from a fixed pool? As red and white says it is the only pure form of the game left, you can't just throw money at it. International football is still the pinnacle of any players career, to be elected to represent a nation rather than just a city is a great honour. As a player, it is more difficult as well, having to adapt to players and coaches you don't work with day in-day out. Also, when the pressure is on in the World Cup you see many supposedly great players falter where others succeed. The Premier League for instance regularly produces teams capable of challenging in European competition, but since it's inception only once have England threatened to do anything of note in a World Cup, and even then they managed to throw it away against Argentina. Don't get me wrong Messi is superb, and I've no doubt will have a more successful club career than Zidane or fat Ronaldo but if there's one thing he's yet to do it's prove it in a World Cup. If he hasn't as yet, then it can't be easy. Oh, and also, I think you'll find that eliminated in the 2010 Groups phase by your 'inferior' teams from around the World were France, Greece, Slovenia, Serbia, Denmark, Italy, and Switzerland. In fact there was only one group in which no European team was eliminated - with Portugal seeing off the Ivory Coast. It's the showcase for the sport, the whole world is watching. It is the epitome of pressure, and how a player handles it is his making.
Haven't been on here for awhile and not sure if this has been posted - Tom Cleverly, who was previously an adipure person, switches to Maestri360.
Those green/black F50s look great. They aren't a launch colour are they? surely Adidas can't be releasing 3 different colours in one go? appleCORR
