I got to go to my first Dynamo game this Sunday (Dynamo 4-0 DC United)
It was an excellent game to be the first professional game that my little kids ever watch.

The stadium is amazing and the area around the stadium looks very promising.
And it got me wondering.... what's the plans for the area around the stadium?
Any plans for restaurants or anything else?

    Map for reference

Some projects are mentioned in the older stadium thread (construction & before) plus HAIF is always a good source for East End and general Houston developments.
Of course all of this is not true, if you asked all the stadium haters during the final political push/rallies and court appearances. A good article about East End development:

This bar isn't in EaDo (looks like it's on the other side of Discovery Green, so maybe 8-10 blocks, depending what route you walk around the GRB).

But the fact that it's not even in EaDo is part of what makes it interesting that they're trying to pick up Dynamo fan business.

Cool! It looks to be a Scottish thing, perhaps.

Scottish connection would be good. HPD needs to know where to go to arrest visiting Scottish forwards.

A good disclaimer in the article. Gotta remember the difference between East End, EaDo, and eastern Downtown.

Even in one of the reviews they do it. Sparkle's Hamburger Spot is in EaDo, not the East End.

Of course, even the organization in charge cannot get it right.

You will see Eado and East End overlap according to their own maps.

Well they mention the stadium, playoffs and the restaurants near the stadium, so I figured it was good enough.

That's interesting. I wonder why both groups claim that little area east of the railroad tracks.

I have no idea. But stuff like that adds to the general confusion.

That little area? I don't think so. People are just vague. They don't care about being precise.

Precision, people. It's a good thing.

I'm sure most people just call it "the area near Downtown that I never go to unless its for a game" or "the place I've gone to once in 10 years of working Downtown"

It's corny and trite, but if they really want something distinct, they have to gateway the area with signs, different types of street light poles, etc.

Oh I don't disagree with that statement, but folks who like to be precise or at the very least accurate, overlapping maps and such make you shake your head.

Chi'lantro food truck is my favorite pre-game/post-game meal. It's turned into a game day tradition for me.

Not to give too much away on the internet, but I'm close with the people behind Champ Burger. Kills me they are not open on weekends. Sparkle's is delicious, but those Orange Shakes would be a killer game day tradition.

Chi'lantro Food Truck is Korean Mexican Fusion. They park in front of Little Woodrows on game days. My favorite is a beef burrito all the way with a fried egg. Their website has their schedule.
