Thanks, yea it's not very nice. They never fired rockets before at Tel Aviv and Jerusalem so it wasn't exactly fun running to a shelter and hearing explosions. Can't imagine what its like in the south with over 800 in the past month...
You know, I totally don't remember this. Which is strange, having been a fan since '02. It's almost like it never happened. You know why? Because IT NEVER FREAKING HAPPENED LALALALALA
And it's hard to forget when it's freakin' burned into your retinas... In other news, I think we have a game in about 2 hours....
Has the Galaxy ever gone into a second leg with a 3-0 lead in its history? I don't remember the last time it happened to any team in the MLS playoffs. No idea where to research this, or I wouldn't just throw out my ignorant questions.
Aggregate scores were first established in this league 2003. Last year, Real Salt Lake came into the second leg of their conference semi with Seattle up 3-0 and had to hold on after losing the second leg 2-0. Source
Not trying to be a negative nancy here but I'm nervous about this game. 3 goals is a lot to overcome but when you have a week to think about (us) and a week to prepare for it (them) it it's almost like you get more open to the idea that it can actually happen. That DC - Houston game made me realize how little a 3 goal lead can be if they just get the first goal at all. We must counter and attack early in the game. and put an end to their season early. LETS GO LA!
For some good vibes, here's a screen capture of my brother flipping off the camera on ESPN the last time we went up to Seattle for the playoffs.
3 Goals is almost the worst possible positive goal difference. Based on nothing more than my “gut”, which has shit for brains (love that line from High Fideltyl), but I digress … Up a goal or two and you know it’s not much of cushion; four or five and really you’re on easy street, but three? Feels dangerous, not enough goals to put the match out of reach, enough to mentally let your guard down. I’d say this is where our veterans step up, but then that’s been true of the entire post-season.
Is a 3 goal lead the new 2 goal lead (i.e. the most "dangerous" lead in soccer), or are we just all damaged goods when it comes to big leads due to the past transgressions of the team we all love?
A Simple Plan: First half - cheese up the counterattack. Should result in another 3-0 halftime lead for LA. Second half - SoCal-style grandstanding. Could result in 1 or 2 goals either way.
First goal is either going to make or break this game... How's that for going out on a limb with a prediction...

I'd say in a home-away aggregate series a 3-0 lead is equivalent to a 2-0 lead in a 90 minute game. All they have to do is force overtime and momentum is all theirs.
Damaged goods, at least in my case. The San Jose game being the most brutal, but '96 isn’t a fond memory either.
Good God. You guys are freaking me the $%^^& out. I've gone from sort of complaisant to slightly terrified in two pages.
