Don't worry... it's a spatial reasoning thing. Probably akin to the Piaget water test:
    http://ebooks.bfwpub.com/psychinquiry/shell.php?activity=testing_spatial_reason
    http://bentilly.blogspot.com/2010/08/piaget-water-level-test.html

Incidentally, when I first heard of this, I gave the test to my wife, my six-year-old daughter and my four-year-old son. My wife (who, BTW, was valedictorian of our HS class and has a PhD - yes... she does make me call her "doctor") and daughter both got it wrong, while my son got it right.

I prefer to blame the graphic. :) I took the test and missed the first one, and got the next 3. Not sure if that's wrong or right! And when does she make you call her "doctor" - OMG< skydog is right, my mind is in the gutter tonight.

    Injury report
    http://www.lagalaxy.com/blog/post/2...pdate-donovan-juninho-and-buddle-questionable

Landon, Edson & Juninho all listed as questionable. Of course we all know Bruce plays pretty fast & loose with the injury report. I’m certainly not for bunkering, but Robbie up top in a 4-5-1 with midfield of Magee, Sarvas, Beckham, Stephens and Willehelmson would negate their wing play while still giving us dangerous counter attacking threat.

Yeah, if those 3 can't go, I think the 4-5-1 is in order. Boss the midfield and look to counter with Keane...

Reminds me of the Gonzalez Tear Test:

Pictures of various "strikers" are shown, first jumping in the air for a header, and then in various positions of painful crumpling to the ground (flinching over, bending over, crumpled on the floor, slumped on the bench) and the testee is asked to place the correct position of the tears streaming down the strikers face.

Sounds similar to the Keane Tear Test that they give to goalkeepers...

Sigi would be smart to lull us into complacency.

I wonder if he would be fired. I think more likely they'll look to get a high profile expensive player or two to keep up with the Joneses. I don't know what their current DP situation is, but obviously they don't have anywhere near ours.

Also, they've been decimated by injuries, and that dumb move by Marc Burch, which isn't Sigi's fault. We've had similar problems, but were lucky to have enough pieces last Sunday to (ALMOST) kill them off.

Really tough one for Seattle isn’t it? 4 U.S. Open Cup appearances with 3 consecutive wins, but the big brass rings of Supporters’ Shield and MLS Cup have eluded them. I guess the question is who do you replace him with? The winningest coach in MLS history, 2 MLS Cups, 4 US Open Cups, 2 Supporters’ Shields & a CCL Cup.

The games in the last month have been coming fast and furious, a seriously compressed and crazy schedule. Now I'm spoiled. It's Wednesday and there's no game until Sunday. It really feels weird and I don't like it.

    Is it Sunday yet??

We're good as long as we don't encroach on a PK

Their DPs are Montero, Rosales, and Tiffert. If you read the Seattle post-match thread, there is a lot of discontent with these three. Montero has never scored in the playoffs, Rosales is often injured, and Tiffert seems to disappear in big matches.

Sigi is an excellent coach and the Seattle brass would be foolish to get rid of him. Their issue is more with their roster. They have a lot of skill players but their lack of overall athleticism hurts them, especially in the playoffs. Eddie Johnson helps them in that area but when he isn't available they just don't have the kind of midfielders or forwards who can just beat you because they can outrun, outjump, or out muscle you. And Montero is the perfect example of a player who can be very effective if you put some athletes around him to win balls and/or get behind the defense and deliver the ball to him, but on his own he has no chance.

I re-watched the highlights of the game we lost 4-0. That was not a very reflective scoreline in that match. We created almost as many chances as they did but we were very wasteful and they were lethal. We had a legit penalty denied us when down 1-0 and the ref was really not interested in calling fouls when we were tripped. That played to their advantage.

Add the fact that we started Lopes and Gaul on the left side of defense and Franklin at right mid and you can see we are definitely going to be stronger on the field in the back this weekend then we were in August.

Thanks - I was too lazy to look it up. They are all excellent players, but ours are a cut above. Several cuts above, and it's proving to make a difference.

It's a good idea/theory, but when was the last time Bruce used a formation other then the 4-4-2?

why Doesn't Bruce use the 4-1-2-1-2 we would be crazy nice on that formation

    Keane Donovan/Buddle

    Magee/Juni/ LD

    Wilhelmsson Beckham

    Juni/ Sarvas

    Dunivant Gonzo Meyers Sean Franklin

    Saunders

we would own the midfield and counter everything that came our way, bruce needs to change his Formation once in a while......................

So, after we beat SmurfNation and killed the Goonies, I was all "I'm cool with this season now." Damned 3-0 lead, because now I'll be sad if we don't make the Cup final.
