Whitecaps have the same thing. If either team wins they have another home game in a couple days. It's just to help sell tickets. They had a little spat about this on twitter which was funny.

I don't think anybody can really fault them for that. They want to be ready to sell thousands of tickets with a few days' notice; people need to have the info in advance.

Just realized, does that mean Jimenez is playing right back for Franklin?

    Leg injury for Franklin.

I'm scared for the Jimenez Meyer side. I think Magee is also on that side so will definitely have to watch it. Looks like Rennie is leaving a couple aces on the bench to bring in a little later. Seems a little conservative but I guess we will find out as the game progresses.

What can I say... Great minds think alike. Buddle up top to start just makes more sense.

Wow this line-up has the potential to be a very bad game for us or we can blow them out.

Omar usually plays on the right of central defense, so it shouldn't be that pairing together.

I think this is a giant mistake. I hope I eat crow.

I cannot believe after months of having the best forward tandem in MLS Bruce goes and inserts Buddle.

Honestly, I have no idea why.
    1) We have had no need for a target forward
    2) He slows down our passing game
    3) He is not exactly scoring them in bunches right now

This is nothing against Buddle. I had no problem with him as an impact supersub when the other team was tired.

How on earth does starting him up top make sense when we haven't used him in MONTHS? I hope Bruce has spotted something in scouting. Because Bruce just broke up the best forward tandem in MLS.

    My stomach just sank.

I'm still at work and won't be able to watch until I'm home so I'm signing off at 7:30. Butterflies have started.

With the totally defensive lineup that Vancouver through out there, I don't envision him having to defend a whole lot.

And two out of every three plays is a penalty, meaning that the game will last until 3 a.m.

Lack of defensive depth might just be the death of us. Jimenez is what 4th choice right back behind Franklin, AJ, and BJ?

Scary to have two green players in our back 4.

I remember MLS Cup Final last year. Bruce had Landon in the midfield for most of the game, and because of that, we dominated the midfield. With somewhere around 20 minutes left, he moved Landon up top, and everyone seated with me knew that he was going to score before the game ended; the gamble was, would Houston take advantage in the midfield. They did get better possession with Landon up top, but it paid off and we won.

This might all work out for the best, especially considering our strung-together defensive line.

So Landon can help protect baby Jimenez in the back.

Don't worry about the cfl match too much. Clock here in the stadium indicates 17 more minutes till kick off.

It's tied. And it's Canadian. They don't do anything quickly.

Fair point about putting him in front of Jimenez. Very fair point. Maybe he's there just because of that. It if was Franklin, I would have thought Bruce lost his marbles.
