I love Dero but no for me. At least not as a starter. As a bench player for depth, yes. Let's move forward as a team, and not succumb to nostalgia. We need to lead the conference for the CCL spot, or win the cup, and every move should be toward those goals.

He's 35 years old. Got paid $600,000 this year. If he wants to retire as a Dynamo, sign a 1-year deal at a much reduced salary to sit the bench and come on every now and then as a sub.

True, but how about a 35 year old DeRo at the forward spot next to Bruin. There are always plenty of minutes.

 

what El Brujo also brings is an A-Mid that tracks back on D. I lost count how many times De Ro tracked back on defense to clear a ball of the line or the like. Then there is his desire to run at people and if marked make the wise pass. Sign him please I say!

 

The way he was received the other night by the Dynamo fans, there has to be some part of him that wishes he could come back here. Not sure that is enough to over rule the business side.

 

We really need to win the Open Cup next season to get a CCL spot. If he doesn't get picked up, maybe bring him back to take care of that.
