NO i didnt want deco in and i dont want any more brazilians if they cant play for there own country then they shouldnt be playing for ours. i dont want portugal to become brazil B or the brazilian rejects.

We don't really need any CD like some one else said. i mind getting another "brazilian" on the team. Just about every country has one even croatia. LOL

Pepe is a better defender than Luisao, Lucio, Juan and if he feels he is more portuguese than Brasilian i dont see why he shouldnt be considered for the national team.

Do you classify Deco as a reject or B standard, we should be honoured that other people find passion in themselves for the seleccao das quinas.

But Manuel Da Costa, Goncalves, Velosa three younger CD with more potential could make it difficult.

This is a strange one, but anyway I doubt he would make the team. Too much quality at this position and the youngsters on their way up are better then Pepe can ever expect to be.

Carvalho, Andrade, Meira, Tonel, Veloso, Castro the list goes on and on...I don't care how "Portuguese" he feels...because he shouldn't make them team based on talent.

Since when does the best CD in our league does not make the team? I'm not saying he would start ahead of Carvalho or Jorge Andrade but he would surely be a good backup for any of these players. And there "youngsters on their way up that are better then Pepe can ever expect to be"???... you mean youngsters like Veloso for example that can't seem to crack the starting 11 for his team but is better than Pepe? Please...

exactly, I speak often w/ Brazilian guys that actually follow the Portuguese League and they say the same exact thing about Pepe! And to all Benfiquistas, please don't take this personally, but these same Brazilian guys can't understand how Luisao still gets called up to the NT...

I'd say that Pepe is just behind Carvalho and Andrade in terms of talent. He is better then Meira, Tonel, etc....

First he is not the best CB in the Portuguese League. Secondly he couldn't make the SCP team years back so he ended up at Porto

Both Polga and Tonel are better then Pepe, and that's that.

i don't think he could. over Ronaldinho nope over Kaka nope over Emerson yea but Deco needs to attack to be good. unless they go with 2 AM he wouldnt fit in.

as for Pepe fitting in the NT yes he would be the 4th CB he wouldn't be in front of Meira Carvalho and Andrade.

Pepe is the second best defender in Portugal behind Luisao

First the Tripeiros claim Pepe is the best...and now the Lampioes claim Luisao is the best...have any of you been watching the games...this is laughable.

Both are quality defenders but hardly the best in Portugal.

Not only do we claim he's the best but the media agrees (He was voted the best Defenseman this past season by them )... at least we have proof and support for our statement. Having said that, the same cannot be said about the lagartos like you that claim both Polga and Tonel are better!
