I just wanted to see who else you guys thought was going to light up el tri, but then fizzed out.

I'm gonna have to go on and say fernando Arce...i don't know but i thought he would be lock for 2010, seems like he fell way off the radar...
Who else did you guys think was going to be a lock but fell off?

Good thread. I thought Omar Arellano was going to make it but, that guy is always injured. Adolfo Bautista is another that has never lived up to the skill that he possesses. Aaron Galindo was one that I thought was going to be a stalwart on the defense but alas, he also has not lived up to my
    expectations.

When I saw Emmanuel Cerda shake off some Columbians in Denver I thought to myself this is the rw we've been looking for.

These guys and Bofo. Bofo had all the tools to fill Cuauh's role to some extent, and he didn't have much competition for the spot. Unfourtunately it never came to be. I also though Guishe was going to be a good addition prior to the WC of '06, but I was wrong. He hasn't done anything with the seleccion, except hold the ball well .

I have to say Kikin Fonseca. Remember his 2006 WC qualification performances 20 goals for the NT including friendlies. I thought he gonna do better when he got transfered to Benfica but has slipped really badly. I wonder what the hell happened to him in Benfica

    true :(

Kikin was on a roll up until he went to Benfica

after that he was never the same

he came back to Mexico and became very inconsistant

anyway, more to add to the list of disappointing NT performances:

    Lucho Perez
    Daniel Osorno
    Chato Rodriguez

For those of you not near a tv for the game I know www.terra.com/futbol_estelar is going to stream the México - New Zealand game live and for free on Wed at 11pm est. I saw el Tri's World Cup qualifying games there and the stream was legit. Hope that helps someone out.

bad career move for Kikin to go to Benfica. should have rather gone to Spain.

amazing how a bad career move can really jeopardize a players game. look at what bad moves have done for Bravo, Kikin and Nery
