Re: News: Un Pibe de película dicen que LA TETA ASUSTADA de peru esta buena, pero no se si la teta o la asustada....
Saw You Think You're The Prettiest, But You're The Sluttiest yesterday at the AFI Latin American Film Festival, really enjoyed it. I've really loved the 3 films(I know that's not much) i've seen from Chile over the years.
Es más bien un documental pero "Los Pecados de mi Padre" (Sins of my Father) fue estrenada por HBO aquí en los EE.UU. el pasado lunes.
gonna have to check that out cuz i def. gotta get this outta my mind. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBNyxSp_RSc"]YouTube - Tony Manero trailer oficial[/ame]
I was there as well and really enjoyed the plot and conversations. My fav movie so far is Zona Sur (Bolivian film) yes im biased! Below are the other films ive seen during the AFI fesitival BESOURO (brasilian) Based on the life and--especially--the legend of capoeira fighter and social leader Manuel Henrique Pereira (1895-1924), known as Besouro Mangangá. While studying the dance-fighting martial art of capoeira, the young Besouro forges a mystical connection to the Orixás, African deities who grant the young fighter magical powers and superhuman capoeira skills that he uses to battle the tyranny of an oppressive landowner. João Daniel Tikhomiroff directs the eye-popping action sequences with great style, incorporating high-flying wire work and martial arts by members of the KILL BILL and CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON team, while real-life capoeirista Aílton Carmo shines in his screen debut. Official Selection, 2010 Berlin and Miami Film Festivals. ZONA SUR (bolivian) ** nominated for the Golden Globes Nestled in the lush valley of La Paz, Bolivia, the upper-class suburb of Zona Sur has sheltered the country's wealthy elite for many years. Here, in an adobe-tile-roofed castle, a statuesque matriarch reigns over her spoiled progeny and her indigenous Aymaran butler. But all is not what it seems. As the mother fights with her oversexed teenage son and clashes with her petulant daughter, her 6-year-old son rambles the rooftops unnoticed. Decline hangs in the air, and the threat of aristocratic privileges changing hands signifies a new chapter of a prickly and ill-fated class war. Juan Carlos Valdivia's (AMERICAN VISA) revolving camera poetically articulates the devolving drama while exposing the bubble of decadence in which the bourgeoisie exist. Winner, Best World Cinema Director and Screenplay, 2010 Sundance Film Festival; Official Selection, 2010 Berlin and Miami Film Festivals. (Courtesy of 2010 Sundance Film Festival) LA YUMA - Nicaragua Yuma, a strong-willed teenager from the gang-infested barrios of Managua, dreams of becoming a boxer and escaping her troubled home. When she begins dating a college student from the nicer part of town, Yuma believes she has found someone with whom she can share her dreams. But some of the boys in her hood, including a jealous ex-boyfriend and her own brother, seek to hold her back. The first feature-length film from Nicaragua in more than 20 years has earned festival acclaim the world over. Best Actress, 2010 Cartagena, Guadalajara and Malaga Film Festivals; Best First Film, 2010 Guadalajara Film Festival.

We had family friends from Argentina when growing up, and during one of our "movie nights" they brought La Historia Oficial for us to watch. I must've been around 12 or 13 and it had a huge impact on me... What a great movie and an eye-opener. I watched El Secreto De Sus Ojos earlier this year... Excellent film. Once again if confirms why Ricardo Darin is one of the best actors in any language. Huge fan of him.
I was amazed by the quality of the film as well and by the fact that it took me a while rto realize Guillermo Francella was in it, whom to me has always been like one of the funniest Argentine comedians , playing the role of Pablo Sandoval in "El Secreto de sus ojos"
