Vidal is a promising player who I rate highly, but his stock does not put him in "major" transfer status. Only after he proves himself at a big club will people be aware of him at a level he deserves. We lost out on Ronnie to Barca, having made a bid. Vidal might go to Bayern without anyone launching a competing bid. You make an interesting and somewhat valid point, but I don't think it applies particularly to this transfer outside of the fact that Vidal is not in England.
