nah. Wenger would probably buy strikers instead of playing PJY anyways so there is absolutely no reason for him to keep him if an offer comes in.

Again, I think Wenger is hoping for a good Olympic performance to at least recoup some of his fee. And I do believe that something personal is bothering Wenger re: PCY (possibly related to the military deferment bumping up the fee) such that even an outstanding performance with tons of goals wouldn't make him reconsider.

Do you guys really think scouts are watching the Olympics? Doesn't seem to be a major tournament where players are bought based on an outstanding performance, I don't know.

Its in their backyard. And can watch on internet or DVR or something. Tons of players get bought after a good tournament. I mean JDW and KJC get bought after asian cup no?

Yeah, those are full squads. These are what U-something with 3 overage players. Just hope he has a great tournament but Olympics footie are not thought of as a major event. I'm just hoping this isn't wishful thinking...

The Asian Cup is not a major event.

Players like Neymar and Hulk will be playing.

There'll be a ton of interest.

No, it isn't but with full strength sides playing each other I think it's more indicative of the quality of the player. Nagamoto, KJC, and JDW all had good Asian Cups and were picked up. I've got my fingers crossed but I'm sorta skeptical. Let's just say a good Olympic performance can't hurt PJY.

As zdrav mentioned, there will be tons of players for scouts to watch

And again, this is in their backyard. It would be criminally negligent for a scout NOT to watch.

The South Americans always take the Olympics seriously. Didn't Messi get into a dispute with Barca in 2008?

The South Americans and Africans (Nigerians) do take it seriously, not so much the Europeans plus they just had their Euro. Hope something good comes out of this transfer-wise.

Yup, Pep let him play and Messi came back with the gold + was grateful to Pepe for the opportunity.

There's nothing else to watch (football-wise) for the English. Forget the scouts who are paid to watch this, many English football starved people will tune to watch these matches.

Being that it's a youth tournament, the Olympics is also a good opportunity to pick up potential future talent early in player careers and therefore for cheaper prices. Both of these reasons plus the in my own backyard thing others talk about, I think it'd be strange if scouts weren't watching.

I also think think there's something personal there. If they can patch that up, then maybe Wenger wouldn't be so adverse to playing PCY. He could be second striker behind Giroud on an Arsenal squad that doesn't have RVP or Chamakh, perhaps splitting some of the time with Podolski who'd also be playing up front as well.

With Bendtner and RVP most like leaving, it's hard to see Arsenal get rid of 3 strikers in one window, let alone 4. If Walcott leaves too, then Podoski will most likely be spending most of his time at LW, which leaves another empty spot for striker. I think we'll see at least one of Chamakh and PCY play for Arsenal after the close of the transfer window.

I just hope PCY isn't deluded enough to think he can break into the Arsenal XI. He needs to leave.

probably out of his hands but that move to the dessert really has hurt his image I think. More than I thought it would anyways. Instead of rosy outlook I get this riding the line feel now with NTH. Hopefully he gets fully showcased.

maybe PCY is thinking ahead and is in the mist of writing an autobiography with a vow of silence and thats why no one knows wtf is going on at Arsenal still lol

That's exactly it though. What many here see as PJY being duped, may in Wenger's eyes be seen as Wenger and Arsenal being duped by PJY. A misunderstanding perhaps, and both sides don't even seem the type to work thsi type of thing out. Personally I think PJY should get out of Dodge, but it may not be up to him. Putting in a transfer request or making a public declaration of intent would help in that regard but PJY has yet to do either.

Last year Bendtner made it pretty clear that he wasn't going to stand by on the bench next season and so Arsenal tried to sell him. WHen they couldn't do that, they found a loan deal for him. Hopefully PJY will at least be able to find a loan deal, but if Chamakh leaves (in addition to RVP and Bendtner), the odds of PJY leaving are much lower.

The best way to hurt your image is to erase it. Which is what happens when you go to the desert.

I think bridges have been burnt with napalm as a lube. If I were PJY, I wouldn't trust Count Wenger as far as I can throw him. Too much at stake to assume any misunderstandings. That window to his career is closing shut permanently very soon, don't blow it. Leave, leave now and never look back.

    Chamakh still makes me laugh...wow.

hey but PJY all but said already, right? Something along the lines of "i don't want to think about Arsenal at the moment..." or was that just his way of saying I'm focusing on the Olympics?
