They should have scored, they deserved to score. Bayern is too ruthless to give away any good chances. Nevertheless a really really good match by Mainz, much better than nearly all other opponents against Bayern.

Tuchel was happy with the match:

interesting article and quotes by him. 5-2-2-1 they used in 2nd half almost worked.

Koo, Okazaki, Choupo, and even Mueller to some degree had chances to scored in 1st half..

Doubt he would've started after recent performances anyway. But yeah he has glass legs.

Stuff like this always makes you wonder how ysy/ kjs would perform in the exact same team situation and opponent

not sure about YSY (i actually think he will do well for Mainz or Augsburg) but i'm skeptical about KJS. many knock PJH for his defending (which is odd as I find his defense superior over his offensive contribution) but I have seen KJS get burned often in J-League for Niigata.

YSY hasn't gotten the compliments for his defending for QPR/DRFC either in what little they've seen.

    true :D

YSY is technically an unknown for me compared to PJH & KJS (2012 London Olympic, few QPR pre-season games & his recent 2 appearance for QPR). if anything, I should be skeptical & have doubts about him the most

unlike sky which centers around 6, an average performance usually is a 3, with a straight 1 being very rare and 6 being similarly rare for stupendously terrible days)

That's the scale used in German schools. 1 = very good, 2 = good, 3 = satisfactory, 4 = adequate, 5 = deficient, 6 = insufficient, the latter two are fails (it appears Austria is the only other country which uses the lowest number for the best result, but they don't go worse than 5).

Well it was true that before this season he really had nothing to offer
Quite a few of us who didn't think he had a place on the NT are now calling for him to start
Either him or YSY who I'm convinced hasn't lost form completely

Yea I'd rather have PJH or YSY anyday than KJS but *sigh* Hong will use KJS as first team left back in the world cup.
