He is not old for a goal keeper and he had an unbelievable copa America, Is weird to see him drop his level of play so fast who knows what's wrong with him, maybe he is having family issues or something.

Maybe just a bad phase, everyone can have a bad spell.

I remember there was a point in the last qualifiers where he was beyond terrible and we all saw what happened.

Hopefully he can get back to form because after him and Barreto our goalkeeping pool is pretty shallow.

Both played all 90 in their respective teams, Betis are currently leaders in La Liga.

Great header, he seems to also be very good in the air.

Marcelo Estigarribia got his first start with Juventus against Genoa yesterday, he wasent great but wasent bad either, Juventus was pretty bad overall and he was one of the better players in my opinion along with Pirlo and Matri.

Rojas scored for Beerschot in the cupmatch today. He got the winning goal in extra time, bloody epic considering it was his first game.

Estigarribia had a good showing vs Inter, I hear he's putting in a lot of work on the team and that he's usually the first one to show up for practice and the last one to leave. It's good to know he's a hard worker considering our players are usually notorously lazy.

Chelo just needs to know how to pass the ball more, all too many times for Paraguay and recently Juve I see him trying to take the shot himself.

Along with the goal, had a very good game and kept his cool in a tense match.

Good for Estigarribia I hope he can keep getting minutes in Juve, that would help out the NT a lot.

In another Paraguayos aboard we have to talk about Pepe Cardozo and the good job he is doing at Queretaro, good for him, I always though he had good potential as a coach he just took the Olimpia job at a terrible time when we had no decent players and the Organization was a mess but he was nuts to take the job for a second time under the same circumstances but he is a declared hardcore Olimpia fan so that clouded his judgment.

I went to a few practices at the club when he was there and it was amazing to see how much passion he still has for the game he was there kicking the ball and running around like a young guy, he would act as a ball boy everytime the ball went near him or even far, he is not that old anyways at the time he was about 37 or something and he was in great shape he looked a lot younger in person than when you see him on tv.

Considering how much our strikers suck balls right now maybe we should bring Pepe back from retirement. I'm sure him and Cabanas with a bullet lodged in his head would still score more then our current strikers.

Seriously tho, I'm glad he's doing well in Mexico tho I honestly tought he was gonna fail considering how bad he did with Olimpia but he proved me wrong. It's just a matter of time before the public are gonna ask him to take charge of the NT lol

And speaking of our sucky strikers, Haedo scored twice today for Rubin Kazan in a crucial Europa league game.

So I hear Hamburg and Tottenham are after Nery Caballero, how much of it is true or is fatty Recanate talking out of his ass again?

It's probably true, Recanate is supposed to be meeting people on in Brazil on wendsday for Caballero and Zeballos, Caballero has been playing really good lately, he just can't score to save his life like haedo without all that running he is still a good prospect and has been making a lot of very important plays for Olimpia.

I don't see Zeballos leaving for some reason, Caballero I can see I just dont think he's physically fit to play in the EPL or Bundesliga. Spain or Italy would have been better choices for him.

On that note, Olimpia has a fantastic group of players right now the best I seen in awhile, it's gonna be kinda sad to see them all go, I'm pretty sure Richard Ortiz will be leaving soon after his recovery and Caceres is close to retirement. I hear Marin has some teams checking him out also.

I just hope we dont start sucking again once these players go, Libertad seems to be the only team in Paraguay who can afford to sell players and still produce more.

Zeballos will probably leave at the end of the season for a good chunk of money, one of the things the Recanate is good at, is talking about Zeballos as if he is a world class player as for Caballero is a pretty big a physical player and I think he will be an excellent fit for any BENCH!! in Europe jajaja, we might end up getting good money for him too but even though he is pretty talented I see him going the Christian Riveros route sitting a bench for a couple of years and then ending up in turkey.

As for next year, I think things are actually looking upc we have a lot of things riding on the game on Monday if we beat Nacional we will be in the Libartadores and Sudamericana and we have a good shot at being champions if Cerro and Libertad tie or Cerro wins, the tournament will be ours to lose.

The best thing about next year is that it seems that Recanate started taking Prozac or some other drug to keep his paranoia under control so now that he is not talking crap about everyone including the players there is a lot of players interested in coming to Olimpia for the international tournaments and now that Recanate has apologized to the other members of the directiva we will have more money to invest in quality players.

Santiago Salcedo has been in excellent form in Argentina lately. He scored 2 really sweet goals against Arsenal.

Considering how shit our stikers have been, why not give him a shot? This upcoming Chile friendly would be the perfect opportunity to check him out.

Oscar Cardozo scored the only goal in Benfica's 1-0 win over Otelul Galati in the Champion's league, Benfica topped their group.

Hernan Perez had a very good game with Villarreal today vs Napoli, eventho they lost and ended up last in their group.

Haedo scored to tie up for Rubin against PAOK, this allowed Rubin to get a point above Tottenham and move to the next round of the Europa league.

Hugo Lusardi was voted into the Chilean's Clausura best XI. He's been a big reason why Cobreloa have made it into the final (vs. U. de Chile). To a lesser extent, Diego Barrios has also been a solid player: with 11 goals or so to his name.

Hopefully both of these guys are in Chiqui's radar.
